Quite well run site in lovely village, access and pitches not very easy

This site is within the lovely village of Bishop Monkton which has a stream with grass banks running through it. Facilities on site are good, with a toilet, plenty of hook ups and easy emptying point, though could be better presented and maintained. Access is narrow, between rows of cottages, and the site is sloping, so most pitches are at right angles to the narrow gravel drive apart from some at the bottom, which have a tendency to become wet. The Lamb and Flag inn is right next to the site entrance, but we would not recommend this - we found the food mediocre and over-priced.

Very peaceful stay

Just got home from having a 2 night stay 29/08/2013. The site is very quiete mainly grass that slopes in places with lots of huckup points so you can pitch your van almost wherever you like. The toilets and shower is what I think most poeple expect on a CL and perfectly usable. There had been rain in the area before we arrived but it stayed dry whilst we were there and the ground seemed fine. We enjoyed our short stay and there were some members who were on the site that were regulars, we will differnitley use this CL again

Lovely C L.

Just returned home on Sunday 14/7/13. Had 6 nights here and really enjoyed it. The site is perfect for us. With 2 dogs you can walk out the back of the site into the field next door then into anther 2 fields. It is ideal for anyone with dogs. The owners are really friendly and very welcoming. The site in nice but sloping in places but not too bad. The village of Bishop Monkton is beautiful with a stream running through it and flowers everywhere. There are 2 pubs in the village The Masons arms and The Lamb and Flag. Both serve food every day. Watch out for the landlord in the Lamb and Flag though he's a misery guts unless you can make him think your rich he doesn't want to know you. He changes character when his little click comes in. He's like jeckle and hide. Never mind the beers o k though. Will definitely go back some time.

Cracking Little Site

This site was perfect for our needs. My wife and I thought it was lovely, as did our six month old. The toilet and shower were adequate, we feared the worst after reading another review but they were fine. There is also an covered area with a washing line which is great if in true British style it rains and you need to hang some things to dry. We suspect we will be returning and recommend a trip to Fountains Abbey if you're in the area!

Disappointing

The location of this cl is great with easy access to Ripon and surrounding area. The site is kept tidy but the real let down was the toilet and shower, which were not cleaned during our stay. We did not use the shower, and we cleaned the toilet ourselves before using it! The floor was filthy, as was the hand basin. I have since been told that on the day we left the toilet and shower were cleaned and refurbished, but won't be going back to check.
