A lovely CL in a village with two pubs. A narrow-ish High St with parked cars but nothing to bother about and access to the CL is OK. Pleasant view over grass/flower meadow to paddocks and everything is is good order as you would expect from a Club member! Mr Pratt was absent until the end of week's stay but was very chatty and helpful - an honesty box is available for payments which did concern me and I would have preferred to send a cheque (another 'van arrived the same time as we did and was staying for two weeks, a lot of cash could have ended up in the box). There is a toilet, very clean and tidy, and a limited amount of information (includes a village walk), with books and mags. Plenty to do in the area (a new part of the world for us) - Tilbury Fort is very interesting, Rainham Marshes great for birdwatching/walking, Essex Wildlife Trust is very close by, Southend Pier, 1.3m long, worth a walk, and London easily accessible by train from nearby Stanford station. The only slight drawback is some distant road noise which, depending on where you come from, will either be ignored as it is something you are used to or be a nuisance; it's not that bad but can be heard during the week - it wouldn't put me off returning though.
