Ease of arrival/welcome

A great little site.

We spent four nights here and used it as a base for walking, it’s perfect for this having a range of public footpaths passing close by the site. Facilities on the site are good, a selection of bins for segregating recycling, reasonable shower/toilet, well maintained site/grounds and a lovely welcome when we first arrived. We walked into Hebden Bridge every day and tried a different route each time, going in to Hebden is relatively easy but it’s a severe uphill walk back so not for the fainthearted. Eating/drinking options in Hebden Bridge range from cheap and cheerful to more refined. We ate in The White Swan (cheap and cheerful), The Shoulder of Mutton (pricier but good food), Stubbing Wharf (mass produced food at a reasonable price/quality) and The Trades (fantastic Indonesian pop-up food from Nin, not too pricy but extremely tasty. Beers in The Trades were also good and very well priced). The Trades was probably our favourite but may not be to everyone’s taste. Overall I would highly recommend a visit to this site but please pay heed to the directions from Hebden Bridge to the site with a caravan on the back, there are some very steep and difficult roads around the area. We will be back….
