Definitely follow the instructions! We had a lovely welcome when we arrived, receiving loads of local information. Views to die for. Gorgeous site, beautifully clean and tidy. Brand new shower facilities. There are numerous footpaths right out side the site, going down into Hebden Bridge or up onto the moors. OS map is a must, as the sign posts don't tell you where the paths lead to! Hebden Bridge is very quaint. Normal Markets days Thurs and Fri. Craft market on Saturdays and a Food market on Sundays. Takes about twenty minutes to walk down some very steep lanes, but that was great because the bus brought us back up and dropped us off out side the farm! if you are frightened of heights, don't sit on the drivers side, its a long way down! We walked back to the site one day, with a bag of cream cakes as an incentive and it took us half an hour. Beautiful walks both ways along the canal. There are three walks starting from the market square, info from the tourist board. We loved the riverside walk to Hardcastle Crags, you can drive up if you want as there is no height restriction at the car park, but the walk was lovely, and there were extra walks through the woods if you wanted to go further up to Gibson Mill. There are plenty of places to eat out and loads of picnic benches if you prefer a packed lunch. Hebden Bridge has a railway station and plenty of buses going further a field. So much to do, we will return.
