Faultless

This site is extremely well kept with excellent facilities. Graham and Andrea make sure you have a perfect stay and are available at all times. If you like walking it is perfectly located and there are guides available in the reception for your use. We would definitely recommend this site and intend to return.

Truly Excellent Site

We have returned a number of times and each time the site has got better and better. Graham is a caravaner himself so totally understands what we need and sets out to provide it to the highest standards. The pitch sizes are very generous and there are no restrictions when positioning the caravan to fully enjoy the brilliant views. We will continue to return.

Not quite a CL site

Easy to find and easy booking in. Nice layout and ease of access to a footpath that goes through the site and can take you to local villages and beyond. Shower and toilet facilities should you choose to use them are of a good standard. Lots of well marked recycling bins and a nicely kept dog exercise area. The site is quiet although you do have a train line running alongside it but the trains that run, maybe hourly are past within seconds. There are 14-pitches at the site, so you don’t get the remoteness you feel with the usual standard of a CL site. The map you are given upon arrival suggests that the CAMC enclosure is at the end of the site, however we nor other CAMC members, were situated in that area.

Fabulous site

Enjoyed a wonderful stay on this site surrounded by beautiful scenery, The owners, Graham and Andrea work so hard to keep everything clean and tidy and were so friendly and helpful. Good size pitch with water, ehu and waste water on each pitch. Can walk to Shaftesbury across the fields and lots of beautiful places to visit nearby.

Better than any commercial site

Spent 2 weeks in July through torrential rain and scorching sun! What a lovely peaceful site to relax on. The facilities are excellent, clean and well kept. The bonus of water and grey waste connections on each pitch was as good as a full commercial site without noise and children running about! Plan to return in September.

What a Beauty.

Spent a week there in May/June and what a fantastic site, never been there before but already planing our return. Site is not local for us but more than worth the travelling. I would put it in the Best two CL's I've ever been to. Great Owners, as well as supplying a heatwave every day we were there. Better than many caravan club sites.

Last minute stop. What a gem

This was a last minute stop over due the wet weather making our booked stop over on a grass pitch being out of the question. Very friendly greeting, beautifully kept site. New shower block that left most big site facilities lacking. Would not hesitate to go back again. Not the cheapest cl but with water and drainage on pitch, free Wi-fi, and good facilities this was a main site equivalent with a small and friendly feel.

A gem of a site

You know how if you discover something really good you don't want to tell anyone about it because you want to keep it for yourselves!!!! This is how we felt about this site. Lower Liston Farm is an absolute gem of a site. Graham greeted us and was very friendly, showed us to the pitch and which was spacious and the pitches were spaced out perfectly. The location was surrounded by fields. Yes there is a train line but they are infrequent and passed within seconds, we didn't even notice the trains. There were public footpaths from the site. Also we walked to the village of Semley which took about 30 mins down country lanes, the second day we cycled and it took no time at all, Semley has a pub, shop and cafe. I would say that this site is one of the best, if not the best, that we have stayed on. PS We stayed 22-25 April and the fact we had good weather was a bonus

What an amazing find! Small site with big facilities!

We have just returned from a four night stay at Lower Liston - 2 caravans and 1 motorhome - and we simply didn't want to leave! The site is beautifully kept and our pitches were fully serviced, with EHU, water and grey waste on each pitch. The shower block and toilets were open (with restricted access due to the Covid guidelines) but they were spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The rubbish bins were all clearly marked for each type of waste and there was a dishwashing area that included a washing machine and tumble dryer that could be paid for with tokens that you purchase at reception. And as for the chemical waste disposal............ I have never seen such an incredibly well appointed place to empty your toilet waste!! Fantastic! The owners (Graham & Andrea) were extremely helpful, very friendly and happy to provide all the information you needed, including a map of a lovely walk to the local pub!! This is without doubt the best CL site that we have ever used and we can't wait to go back - our thanks go to Graham & Andrea for making our short stay such a memorable one!! See you again soon.

Struggled to find decent walks nearby

Stayed at this site a few weeks ago. The site itself is clean and tidy and the toilet block, whilst rather dated, was clean and the showers nice and hot. They have sorted the Covid-19 logistics well enough. The site is adjacent to a railway line so you do get the trains whooshing by but that wasn't too much of a problem. The only problem we had was finding a decent dog walk. The trade-off for staying on a site that is really quiet is that inevitably it is in the middle of no-where. There are no walks direct from the site that take you anywhere - just into the next field. The local village is some 30 minute walk away and you have to walk in the road. Even the people who greeted us said that they had never successfully navigated the footpath to Shaftesbury. If you want a site that is just outside a village with things you can walk to (shop/pub etc) then this isn't the site for you. If you want to be able to disappear into local footpaths and trails straight from the site then this isn't for you If you want to chill in a well tended and clean site in the Dorset countryside then we would say this is a good choice. We hope this review from the perspective of a dog owner helps.

Response from the Club

Thank you for your review. The CL Owner has been in touch as they work really hard to ensure everyone has a wonderful time at their site. We are sorry that you feel the toilet block was dated. The toilet blocks are only seven years old and always kept well maintained and clean. If you visit again please note there are many wonderful walks in close proximity to the site and the CL owner has lots of information on nearby and local walks in the reception which guests of the site have access to. You can see from the previous 5 star reviews that members have enjoyed walks from the CL Site in the nearby fields. We hope this helps if you visit the site again in the future.
