Ease of arrival/welcome

Beautiful views and a warm welcome

We were made to feel very welcome by Natalia and Dan, during our 3 night stay. They have worked hard during lockdown to improve the site and now have 5 lovely flat hardstanding pitches with EHU and own water supply. There is also a very well maintained toilet block (2 loos). The field is securely walled and fenced and all beautifully maintained. Although close to the quarry, the views across the valley are beautiful. A great place to sit and enjoy the sunset. We know the area pretty well but have never walked in and arounnd Cauldon. It is so pretty with lots of footpaths. It's also very convenient for the Peak District and we stopped off in Ilam and Alton where there is a good, well stocked convenience store. There is also a little shop down the road in Waterhouses. The site is a very short walk from the Yew Tree Inn. Due to Covid-19 this was closed during our stay but re-opens on 1st August. A must visit! We usually try to stay at a different CL each time, but we will definitely be back to this one.
