*****Warning*****

******Warning******* This site has so much to offer (Location, pitches and proximity to pub), however, these benefits are completely negated by the presence of a large aggressive dog. The site consists of 5 hard standing block paved-pitches, serviced with both water and electricity. It’s located on a hill inside the grounds of a farm. Two sides of the perimeter have drystone walls, the entry and other side have five bar fencing. To gain access to the pitches you need to go through the yard in front of the house. Everything fine so far… During our second evening on the site, the owners had gone out , but their dog was loose in the yard. This dog is medium to large dog which when approached was aggressive towards anyone who went to the gate. All 5 pitches were busy that weekend and each camper had their own dogs with them, including our own. Because the dog was loose no one could walk through the yard with their own dog without taking the risk of been confronted by the owners dog. One of the campers phoned the owner who told them “under no circumstance should anyone go into the yard, especially with a dog”. One dog owner was returning to the site from walking his dog and had cross an adjacent field and climb over the end stone wall to get back to his motorhome.Another had to get into their car with their own dog to avoid walking across the yard. About half an hour after the phone call, a lady arrived by car and secured the errant dog inside the house. This is clearly unacceptable and potentially dangerous to anyone who had met this dog whilst it was loose. There were a family with a young child staying in one of the static caravans, which was open to the yard where the dog was roaming. This incident compromised the safety of campers and their pets. Looking at previous reviews, this has happened before to others during their stay.

Mixed feelings

The views from this site are spectacular. It is located in a lovely spot, close to a pub and has nice clean ladies and gents toilet. Pitches are flat and easily accessible. We had an issue though with dog poo. The neighbors next to us let their tethered dog have a poo on the pitch then didn't move it. On the last day, I took my own dog out at 6.30am and was greeted by the farm dog running loose and peeing up my awning. It also had a poo on the pitch right next to us. While packing away both my partner and myself stood in more poo.

Nice Views

This is a lovely site with cracking views over rolling countryside. The pitches are large and flat with its own water and electric and are plenty big enough. The toilet is basic but its clean with separate ladies and gents (a word of advice though they both ran out of loo paper a day after our arrival) there is no shower. The entrance is a little tight but not overly so but be careful of the dog that lies in the drive way - he is friendly and likes a tickle and doesn't always get out of the way. We feel its a tad expensive at £24 a night but we would certainly return for a weekend.

Excellent CL - will definitely return

First time here but definitely not the last! Stunning views, perfect for nature lovers & peace & quiet. Natalia very friendly & welcoming, very helpful. Close to 2 good pubs. Very well kept site, clean & tidy, level pitches. Lots of local walks, perfect for dogs too. Overall a fabulous site!

Still a lovely place to stay

We stayed last year, and liked it so much we came back again. We were not disappointed. We got a warm welcome from Natalya, and enjoyed revisiting local beauty spots and discovering new places. The toilet was closed last year due to Covid restrictions, but we appreciated having it this time: very clean and well equipped, though the light sometimes went out suddenly, and needed a wave to activate it again.

Excellent 5CL

First time on this CL ( 11th to 15th June 2021 ) and won't be the last, its got the right location and the right facilities for a fairly new kid on the block, ( opened last year ) Natalia and Dan have worked their socks off to create this outstanding 5CL, all pitches have block paved, level hard standing, electric and water on each pitch. The grass was cut short and plenty of flower pots to add to the lovely quiet setting. Toilet was clean and observed Covid19 guidelines whilst they are in place with sanitiser and cleaning products. The views and sunsets are to die for weather permitting. Plenty to see and do in the surrounding area, whether you want to drive or walk. Pub just a stroll away, fish and chip shop and takeaways all within driving distance. I can only echo what other people have said about this CL. Talking to Natalia and Dan they haven't finished yet and wish to further improve the site over the next few years, i wish them luck with that. This is going to be one of those CL sites that you will have to book well in advance if you want to visit. Best wishes and all the luck in the world you two. Sharon and Chris xx

Immaculate!

This is our second time here and could see how much effort the owners have put in to improve the site . Gated site so you feel secure, lovely block paved hard standIng with grass at the side for awnings. Grass looks newly redone .. green and lush giving a lovely fresh appearance. Each pitch has its own EHU and water so fully serviced. Pitches are marked with cute milk containers with welcome message (nice touch) The site is peaceful and surrounded by lovely views. Sanitiser provides in several locations to help with Covid control. The pub down the road (yew tree) is currently closed due to covid but you can walk to Waterhouse’s. We cycled the manifold trail with our grandson which was a great flat easy ride for young ones. Would recommend and will return!

Lovely CL

This is a lovely CL in a great location. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. They have recently block paved all the hard standings and put a little milk churn in the corner of each pitch, just to make it look nice, which it does! Also there is a water tap on the EHU pillar on each pitch, which is nice! The toilet is nice and clean. Would definitely revisit this one! (NB: 3 of the 4 pubs mentioned in the description are now closed, 2 due to Covid and 1 permanently, so the only one open atm is the Red Lion, which is about 2.5 miles away. We called in while we were out on a walk).

What a perfect CL

We have just spent 7 nights at Lower Moorend View after a period of lockdown and it was absolutely delightful. A really clean hard standing level pitch with plenty of room on grass for our awning. Each pitch has its own water tap which was a great facility. Views surrounding the site are stunning. It is also extremely peaceful. I note a negative review mentioning the owners dogs, yes there are two dogs but can honestly say they never caused us any bother whatsoever, we never witnessed them roaming the site and we definitely didn’t hear them barking. Great location for exploring nearby Ashbourne, Bakewell, Derby, Matlock and Buxton. Two toilets for exclusive use which are perfectly adequate and clean. The site hosts Natalie and Dan are so welcoming and whilst new to the caravan business they have personality and welcoming skills in abundance. They just want you to have a perfect time and cannot do enough for you if you ask them. Plenty of hand sanitizer and antiseptic wash in the toilet too, We would definitely visit this site again. Thank you we throughly enjoyed ourselves.

Well equipped site in lovely location.

We normally disapprove of sites with hard standings laid out in a row, but here they have a beautiful brick surface and are spaced well apart. It was good to have our own water tap as well. There are beautiful views over the Peak District and an intriguing quarry down the road. Natalia gave us a warm welcome and was very helpful. Lots of interesting places around: we particularly enjoyed Cheadle (a bit run down, but two beautiful churches) and Leek. Lovely walks too, especially along the disused railway line from the quarry.
