Great CL with easy access through double gates, very level field with water points on each pitch. The grass is kept low with no grass cuttings to drag in your van. Easy access to fishing lake which is full of large carp, average 10lb in weight and beautiful healthy condition and possible to drive onto top of lakeside with Motorhome. This is an off grid site so no electricity but at £10 per night and £8 per day fishing, we have found a real gem and will definitely be back, one point to mention to Sean and that is please keep the site off grid as most van owners can manage without electricity. Thank you for a wonderful relaxing peaceful weekend.
Amazing stay at Ludstone
This site is fantastic. The owner Sean was very welcoming, gave us some great local information and was very accommodating.
We initially were only staying for a long weekend but we enjoyed it so much we ended up staying for a total of 9 nights.
The fishing is a great price and there are lots of fish to catch.
The site was clean and well maintained. Also has water and drainage on each pitch which was fantastic. Bins were also provided for general waste and recycling.
Overall, this is a fantastic site and we will definitely be returning.
Superb Site
Can only echo the other reviews. Set in beautiful Shropshire countryside with a few great pubs within walking distance (wear long trousers and take a stick as the public footpaths are overgrown in places) we were amazed how dry the pitches were after all the rain. It's a super find for those of us who don't need EHU. Personal welcome on arrival and met a number of locals who are friendly and chatty. Good for dogs too. Literally nothing to complain about.
Don’t tell anyone
As off grid sites go this is absolutely awesome. I won’t repeat previous comments but suffice to say they are bang on. Just met the owners Sean and Wendy, welcoming, helpful and lovely people.
The place is huge, immaculate and with amazing views.
Just don’t tell anyone 😂
A fantastic place to unwind
We stayed here for a week and thoroughly our time there
Set in the grounds of the fabulous ludstone hall we found English countryside at its best.
A very well maintained, spacious and flat site over looking open countryside and woodland we found it very peaceful and relaxing and on a clear night with no light pollution the stars were incredible.
Wonderful walks around the grounds and local area with the nearest village of claverly less than a kilometre away.
There are several great pubs within easy walking distance and the nearest shop is at rudge heath and is around 1.5 km away and has everything you could need open 7 till 7.
Each pitch has its own water supply and a easy to use, clean waste disposal area is at the far end of the field.
The site owner Sean is a awesome host, very accommodating, helpful and friendly with a wealth of local knowledge and will even help you catch a fish or two at his well stocked fishing pools next to the site.
If your after a quite getaway this is the place for you and we will definitely be returning.
A Pleasant Stay
We stayed at this sire for the weekend of the Cosford Airshow and enjoyed the place so much, we decided to stay an extra couple of days. The site is flat and well maintained with no evidence of grass cuttings. The pitches are well spaced and each one has a fresh water point and a grey water drain. There are no electric hook up points, however, the owner is considering installing them. During our stay, there were 3 days of afternoon thunderstorms. The ground absorbed the heavy downpours without flooding and the field surface remained good. A lovely quiet location with 4 good food pubs within a 20 minute walk from the site. We will definitely visit again.
Perfect site
Just returned from a wonderful weekend at Ludstone. The site is very well maintained and has very large pitches with their own water supply. There is no electric available at the moment but sounds like this may be installed in the future.
The view across the fields was lovely and the site was very peaceful.
Claverley village can be reached with a 20 minute walk down the adjacent footpath. The village has two pubs and we found The Crown to be very welcoming and served good honest pub grub at a very reasonable price. Marys homemade chips were bostin. Ken the landlord made us very welcome and even gave us a lift back to the site.
15 minute walk along another footpath brings you to the Boycott Arms which has good beer and food.
A longer circular walk can be found on All Trails and leads to The Inn at Shipley.
We have to thank Sean the owner for helping us too when our car had a flat battery he was able to jump start it saving us a long wait for recovery.
We look forward to many more weekends at Ludstone.
