Very Pleasant site

This site was of medium size with hardstanding plots well spaced apart . Tap, EHU and waste running to the hedgerow . . For £18 per night a bargain , Very pleasant people . Will return. People have referenced road noise , it is situated on the A64. But we never noticed it .

A little gem

Lovely little site each pitch has own water and electric. It is just off the A64 so there is a bit of road noise but somehow it didn’t bother us too much. There is a footpath outside the site where you can exercise your dog but the dog will need to stay on the Lead as there are sheep in the fields. Very handy for York and for the coast such as Filey and Scarborough and inland to the Yorkshire moors. The owners were very friendly and there is usually a good supply of fresh eggs We did struggle a bi5 with the chemical emptying point but overall would definitely recommend

Good touring base

Stayed with caravan for 4 nights in June. Easy access and flat level site. Called at house to confirm pitch. Pitches on gravel with tap and electric point. Warm welcome from owner. Smallish site if busy 5 vans on when we left. Interesting disused church opposite site entrance and according to internet the field contains abandoned village only furrows remaining. Main road to coast 100metres from entrance good base for day trips out.

Wonderful Spot

We booked the site in order to walk the Yorkshire Wolds Way which runs past it about half a mile away. It's a lovely site with the garden to one side and the church behind across the lane. The main road (and a half-hourly bus service!) is 5 minutes walk but barely audible from the site. It isn't a 'manicured' site but the pitches are gravelled and despite some heavy overnight rain appeared to drain quickly. Each pitch has its own water supply so make sure you have the right kit. We were able to catch buses to and from various local villages along the main road in order to start each day's walk and return, until we discovered the 'black hole' into Filey which for some reason doesn't connect with the main road. Our lovely site owner offered to drive us to our start point that day! Definitely beyond the call of duty and much appreciated. Malton is 10 miles away and a destination for 'foodies', Castle Howard and Scampston garden are close and there are plenty of short circular walks in the area. If you have a bus pass Filey, Scarborough, Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay are within an easy and free - ride. Although you have to go to Scarborough to get to Filey as the bus doesn't go direct! We loved the site, it's amazing value and we'll be back.

Great value, lovely location

The site is situated in a small quiet village location just off the A64. It’s peaceful and secluded with good pitching areas, water and electricity to each pitch, excellent recycling and toilet waste facilities. Ideally located to visit the coastal towns of Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington, around 13 miles to the nearest location. We also visited Malton, Pickering and went to Whitby on the North Yorkshire Railway (expensive but great fun). Very good value for money and will be visiting again in the future.

Secret Garden

We stayed at this site for eight nights from early September. You would not know this site was here, if you were not looking for it, but on arrival it is like entering a secret garden. Five hardstanding pitches, each with its own water tap. There was free wifi, which we found to be very good, all for £12 per night. This site is just off the A64, so there is some road noise, but this did not bother us. However, this is a very relaxing and peaceful location. It is only 10 miles from Malton and 12 miles from Filey, so is well located for coast and country.
