Perfect for us

Nellie has said most of what you need to know about this site but it was the first visit for us. We were en route from North Wales to the ferry at Harwich and this CL was just over 4 hours driving which was more than enough. It turned out to be a perfect short stay of 4 nights so that we could take in the local area. The site is quite large and does have hardstanding spaces for those that need it. The grass was firm enough and whilst a bit bumpy we were able to find a flat spot without having to resort to levellers. There is plenty of room between potential pitches so you are not crowded. There is a road that runs down to both Huntingdon and the other way to St.Ives that passes within 100 yards of the CL and some road noise can be heard but it is not intrusive and quietens towards evening. Views are typical wide open ones of glorious countryside. Access can be tricky for those that miss the turning which is signposted. It is the first house on the right just through a small chicane as you head towards the village of Kings Ripton.  Electric points are numerous and water and Elsan emptying points are easily found. Huntingdon is a 10 minute drive in the car and St.Ives about 20 minutes. Both are excellent and I would suggest the walk between Houghton Mill to St.Ives and back through the meadows, shown on noticeboards at the Mill. The fast bus from the P & R from St.Ives to Cambridge will mean you can leave the car there.

Mr.Colletts is a genial host and lent us an OS map which was very helpful of him. He also suggested local eating places All in all a smashing place to stay and having found it we will now make a point of stopping again.
