4 Night stay in August 2013 (Wednesday to Saturday)

This is a great site and the other reviews state all the excellent aspects and facilities on the site. I found that there was some loud road noise during the day from bikers travelling VERY fast towards Whitby and not just at the weekend. I stopped on the CL section in the height of the holiday season and the 2 fields adjacent to site were full, probably close to 40 caravans or tents. As the children's play area is in the corner of the CL there was some noise from the odd excited child, which did not bother me, which may well disturb some of the more discerning club members. Should your requirements include complete peace and tranquillity I would respectfully suggest you avoid staying the school holidays.

Excellent site

We booked this site as we'd heard of the excellent facilities, and we weren't disappointed. There were four units in our party, one of which was a tent, so we were offered the bottom corner of the rally field, which had 20 pitches. It was perfect for us. There were two blocks of showers/toilets which were immaculate. The CL itself was quiet, and there are plans for another sixteen pitches in another field. Therefore if you specifically want the CL you need to make sure you specify when booking.

Gem of a Site

The facilities here are plentiful, clean, and well maintained. Loads of space and ease of access in any weather. An abundance of walks and things to do. You are only 20-30 mins drive away from many other attractions. There is road noise, which no doubt will bother some, but after busy days and a few glasses of wine we hardly noticed, we didn't loose any sleep for sure. We have already recommended it to friends and it will be top of our list when visiting the area again. Thanks to the CL owners for your attention you have a Gem of a Site

Delightful

Travelled straight after work on Friday to Marfitt for another enjoyable weekend. The site remains a delight with excellent facilities and is excellent value for money. Anyone visiting the North York Moors/Coast for the first time this is the place to be based. We live only hour drive away and its perfect for us. We set up our new awning for the first time in rain shower and unfortunately the rain kept appearing over the weekend along with some sun. On this visit we had a little 2 year old hitchhiker (reason for new awning) for the second week running and she absolutely loved seeing all the animals. Can't fault the site and will be back soon.

Lovely CL

Used this site as a one night stop over. The owner was very friendly and helpful on arrival. We had a massive pitch at the top of the field with amazing views just wish we were able to stay longer. You get some road noise but it didn't affect us. We would definetly return.

Hole of Horecum on your doostep

Visited back in March- lovely site with working dairy farm- owners are really friendly and nothing is too much bother. Concrete sleepers laid in ground for traction/hardstanding. Lovely views over moors and Hole of Horecum is a few yards away...returning n a few weeks as we like it so much..Chickens are funny- they will even sleep under van for warmth- given the chance- but wont leave you an egg!! Loads of space to spread your outfit around and shower etc down at farmhouse. Can be a little road noise in winter/spring when no leaves on trees but well landscaped otherwise
