Very well maintained site, helpful and friendly owners

This is a quite new site, opened 3 years ago, and has been set up by the owners Sue and Alan to the highest standards. All facilities are excellent (though we did not use the toilet and shower), and very adequate Covid-19 precautions have been put in place. Sue and Alan were friendly and welcoming, Sue visiting each of us and explaining payment methods, with bank transfer a feasible option. The site has been thoughtfully planned, with all 6 hardstandings (I'm not sure why 6 rather than 5) on one side, all facing out on a lovely grass area, very well mown with picnic tables and a pond. The only disadvantage of this arrangement was that the pitches felt rather close together, especially when the site was full at the weekend. Access to Pocklington, a pleasant characterful small town (though rapidly expanding with new housing developments) is about 2 miles along Burnby Lane, the downside here being the household waste site near the site, which brings a lot of traffic, sometimes queuing, and which has probably contributed to the poor road surface, very noticeable when cycling. Local places of interest, all very enjoyable, were all within 2 or 3 miles - Burnby Hall Gardens, the canal head, and the village of Nunburnholme on the Yorkshire Wolds Way footpath.
