A charming campsite

We recently spent 3 nights at May Tree CL and had a fabulous stay. A lovely site with views across the farm, a sunny and open aspect, and very peaceful! Sarah, the owner was really welcoming, providing loads of helpful information on things to do and nearby places to visit. We had taken our bikes, and on Sarah's recommendation we cycled down to the nearby beach and then along the seat front, all via quiet cycle paths and country lanes. A lovely area to visit, plenty to see and do. This is a CL going on our list of favourites for a follow up visit.

A field of our own . . .

We have just returned home after 3 nights on this idyllic off grid site! After chatting with Sarah, on the phone, to arrange our stay we had no trouble finding the site. As we were the only unit on at the time we could choose anywhere we fancied. Near the service area and tucked in by the hedge suited us fine. It is a working farm and Sarah was quite concerned that we would be disturbed by the tractors going up and down the lane - not a problem: you have to make hay while the sun shines! Being a large motorhome, once on any site we try to use our bikes, and here we were able to get to both Pilling and Knott End mainly on lanes almost traffic free. Look out for the goldfish in the trough by the gate! Yes, we would definitely visit here again!

Everything we want from a basic CL

This new CL is a bit more expensive than we would normally like to pay for a non electric basic site but we chose it for the description and the location. We wasn't disappointed. When we arrived we both said 'wow' as we drove onto the large flat and lawn like field. Facilities are by the gate which include recycling, chemical toilet disposal with rinsing tap and drinking water tap. We were welcomed by Sarah and Jon on arrival and was told we could pitch anywhere we wanted and was given their mobile numbers in case we need to contact them. Sarah also provided us with a map and directions to Pilling Sands and Knott End on Sea which are both a short drive away. The site is off the A588 but far enough away not to be disturbed by traffic noise. We stayed for 4 peaceful nights and will definately be going back.
