A wonderfully quiet site with a friendly welcome set in beautiful countryside with excellent walking on its doorstep. Once visited you will most probably return.

Lovely site overall, a few tweaks would polish it off!

Enjoyed our stay here, it is a lovely site with nice views. The main feature is the location and access to walks as well as close proximity to Bakewell and Chatsworth etc. We had a friendly welcome and found the site to be well kept. It would be a 5 star for me with a few tweaks, not sure why there is no recycling at all, seems odd now. We bought our recycling home as there is just one large dumpster for all waste. Maybe we missed something? The access to and from the site is very tight and does take a bit of manoeuvring especially on exit. Don't park up too close to the gate on arrival either, it's a very tight turn and then the gate opens out towards you. It would be good to have more details of the access available but they are mentioned in previous reviews as well. There is a toilet for use which is clean, it has a cold water tap but no soap or hand towel. Good waste disposal for grey water and chemical toilet with clear notices on not dumping grey water anywhere else. The pitches share an electric point for 4 vans then one off to the side. There is one water mains for all vans. The row of 4 vans is snug though the field itself is more spacious, just very uneven so not usable for hitching up with more space. We had an enjoyable stay, friendly neighbours, nice views and good location. Access is a slight challenge and lack of recycling is just at odds with everywhere else.

So quiet. Shh!

Just returned from 2 nights at Mill Farm and feeling very relaxed. The sign on the gate tells you to park up and pour yourself a glass of wine and that is all the welcome we need. I had a slight problem with my hook up cable which was too short to reach the box from the pitch I was on. The owner kindly allowed me to borrow a longer one. That’s my fault, I will get a longer cable, I’m new to this. On the first day we walked west along Lathkill Dale to the Bulls Head in Monyash and on the second we walked east along the dale to Over Hadden for a drink at the Lathkill Hotel. Both great walks for our dog Winston who slept soundly both nights. We had a lovely time and hope to return soon.

Relaxing stay in quiet site

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Mill Farm. We were greeted on arrival by the owner and were able to choose our pitch. The views are beautiful and the surrounding area is great for walking - straight from the site gate. The facilities were clean and the chemical waste point easy to use, which is not always the case. We cannot really ass anything to the already very positive reviews, it is a perfect spot and just what you want from a CL. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Back after 4 years - what's changed

We are caravaners which like to mix up our CL's. We have done about 70 over the last 15 years and this was our 4th visit to Mill Farm. I have to say that it is amongst my top 5 CL's, and the photographs are a better representation than my description. The site is well maintained, and looks like the photographs, we have been on many sites where you have to wonder how they managed the shots. The entrance/exit can be a challenge, don't be afraid to use the space just outside the gate and reverse if you have to especially on the way out. Lathkilldale is straight out of the gate and down the footpath - breathtaking. The site is good the location is perfect, and the view from the caravan isn't bad either. There are a couple of things different since we last visited. The minor road lading to the site is full of massive pot holes, but is extremely quiet and therefore easy to negotiate with care. Hopefully something will get done about this and has no bearing on the CL itself. The other is that there were more people on site this time than previously - its great to see other folks have found it too. Hopefully it will won't be fully book when we want to return in a couple of years

Perfect for a visit to Chatsworth Flower Show

We enjoyed a 3-night stay around the Flower Show. This is a beautiful & tranquil CL, very well located for walks in the Lathkill Dale & other attractions. The local pubs in Over Haddon & Monyash are each a couple of miles away & very pleasant with good food. Arrival & set up were easy with access to power & a friendly welcome. All in all, highly recommended. Thank you.

Lovely, peaceful weekend

Visited 27-29th Nov and had a lovely weekend. This site is quiet with friendly owners and excellent views. An excellent introduction to caravanning for our new puppy. we will be back when he can walk a little longer.

Very nice CL in a convenient spot for walking

This CL is very well kept and laid out with 3 x hardstandings and 2 grass pitches. we had pitch 1 (grass) which did require some levelling, but wood blocks were provided that were sufficient for the job. The water and waste disposal points were of a good standard and the toilet was always very clean and toilet paper and hand soap were provided. The owner operates an envelope system for payment, which made paying very easy. Access following the site instructions is easy enough, although with a long unit the final turn into/out of the field requires care and a twin axle might need to reverse in the drive to get in (as suggested in a review below), but I got a 7.2m single axle in and out by the skin of its teeth by taking the turns as wide as possible. The site has footpath access directly down into Lathkill Dale with the possibility of several nice circuit walks without using the car and Bakewell is just a 10 minute drive from the site. This a nice CL in a great location for walking and I would definitely visit again.

Peaceful and great location

We stayed for two nights - 6/7 July 2017. The site was easily accessed and instructions were left on the gated entrance to the site. We chose our pitch and settled in to enjoy the views and the peace and quiet. The grass had been newly cut and but cleared away so we didn't tread cuttings into our van. The pitch was level and very spacious. There was a toilet for public use and all other amenities on site were there for our use. We did not have any contact with the site owners but that was okay - we left our money in an honesty envelope. We visited Bakewell and Chatsworth House during our visit and there are plenty of other attractions nearby. We loved the site for its peace and quiet. We would recommend this site and will return again.

Bang in the middle of a top walking area...

Lovely site with views, some levelling required. Grass kept short with well kept loo. Footpath leads down into Lathkill Dale, for a fabulous walk. Chatsworth House Farm Shop is a must if you appreciate wonderful food. Got ticked off for arriving early, and you do need your reversing skills to access the CL. Would I go again? Yes.
