Why stay here ...

The site is situated on a small upland sheep farm adjacent to Lathkill Dale - an area of outstanding natural beauty and tranquility, rich in flora and fauna. The CL enjoys stunning views across open and unspoiled countryside.

The site is on a lawned area and although it is slightly sloping, the pitches (4 of which are hardstanding), are largely level, and all have electric hook-up.

The farm is ideally located for walkers with many footpaths accesible.

The villages of Over Haddon and Monyash, both have good 'eating' pubs and are within 2 miles. The famous market town of Bakewell is 3 miles away. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are slightly further. A regular bus service can be accessed from the stop 3/4 mile away.

The High Peak, Tissington, and Monsal trails are all within 4 miles, and all provide cycle hire facilities.

Facilities on site ...

  • Dog walk from site
  • Recycling facilities
  • TV reception: fair
  • Working farm

Mill Farm
This is a wonderfully quiet site in a beautiful area: the owners take great pride in its maintenance. The confirmation email , however, is perhaps rather terse and could helpfully be reworded. There is a sharp right turn into the site but this will not present a problem to drivers who know their own outfits and there is plenty on space to manoeuvre. The owner lays down clear guidelines, made necessary I expect by the poor conduct of CAMC members in the past who have not behaved reasonably. We found the owners to be most helpful, friendly and up for a quick chat. We greatly enjoyed our stay on this site which is a great asset to the Club network and is a real gem.

Lovely quiet site

Mill Farm
We stayed for a short break and found the site easily from the directions given. The views from the site are fabulous and it was peaceful when sitting around the van. The site is well maintained and clean and tidy. Easy access to lots of places to visit. Plenty of off road cycling and walks. Too many to chose from! Yes it is tight to get in and out of the field off the drive but not an issue if you are confident and take your time. Would highly recommend if you want a quiet site and use facilities in your van. We will definitely visit again.

Amazing little CL and a re-balanced review from the last two

Mill Farm
We have been coming here for years. Its Picture perfect and everything a CL should be. The Terms that the owners welcome caravaners are clear and polite. And they run an extremely smart site. With reference to the last two acidic reviews, you do have to know how to drive an outfit and manoeuvre in anything other that a manicured Club site. There is plenty of room to get on site and exit but don't expect a large late arrivals park... Bio Security over the last few years is a real problem for farms and urban warriors have little inclination to understand let alone be asked to observe some local common sense. If you read the two negative reviews they share an odd membership name, in no way typical of the usual reviews. Both probably indicative of social media warriors..... If you want a delightful getaway with a virtually private Dale on your doorstep and a great pub or two within walking distance then its perfect. Hosts are lovely. Rod and Andrea Sproson

Rude, grumpy owners

Mill Farm
Arriving early evening, we were surprised at the harsh right turn from narrow driveway into a gate for the site - had to turn in the farmyard. We returned from a day out with two cars & dropped my car, (friends staying nearby) for Mrs Marsden to be rude about us having friends in one car whilst we dropped one of, shouting ‘what don’t you understand, i said no visitors!!’ … what a way to meet your paying customers. Do not recommend. Will not return. Thankfully we go home tomorrow.
