Planned to stay for a couple of days in December for a little fishing but, firstly no hardstanding, the owner insisted we wouldn't have any problems or get stuck despite the huge amount of rain we had. Well we didn't get stuck but it took a lot of cleaning to remove all the mud thrown up on the wheel arches on departure. The site is primarily set up for fisherman and Im sure the fishing is excellent but we needed to top up with drinking water when we arrived however there was a fishing match on and the only water tap available is where the fisherman park so we were told to fill up in the morning.....but there was another fishing match the following morning so we had to fill up before they started arriving at 8.00! The facilities are also shared with the fisherman and the on site shower requires a key to access and is very basic and in need of updating. Fortunately we were not furnished with a key to use the shower. At £14 a night for two adults in December and shared facilities with the fisherman plus £5 a day to fish onto (if we could) this was grossly overpriced. We wouldn't have booked this site if we had known there were two fishing matches booked for the days we planned to stay so needless to say we didn't bother staying to fill up with drinking water the next morning or get any fishing in. On a positive note the Crown around the corner is a great little pub.
