A great stay

We have just got back from a 3 night stay. We had the place to ourselves Mon and Tues. We did 2 local walks - the Abbey walk through Hermits Wood is nice and the Hermitage (Hermit's Cave) was well worth seeing. We also went to Ilam although that was very crowded. Site facilities are all excellent and we had good mobile signal. All in all a great stay.

Great weekend, so peaceful .

Lovely weekend on a great new site. Lesley and Ady are very welcoming. Levelling blocks are required but Ady can provide extra bricks or blocks to help. Great pubs to walk to nearby. (Approx 1 mile away) and lovely tea room (cow shed) down the road who do an excellent breakfast too. We will be back!

Very peaceful and spacious site.

Very good communications from a Lesley prior to arriving on the site; this meant we had time to order the green chemical for the loo and we knew the code to enter the field. Most of the pitches are quite slopey We were able to level our caravan without issue using a few chocks. All pitches have 16Amp electric supply. The water supply is easy to find, the waste and recycling bins are well laid out and clearly marked, the chemical loo disposal point was easy to use and excellent handling for the cover. The owners also provided sanitiser for contact points. We were also pleased the site is non smoking. We really liked the site and want to visit again to explore more of the footpaths and use our bikes on the lanes and definitely visit the recommended cafe. Thank you Lesley and Adi for making us so welcome.

Little gem for peace and quiet

Just returned from a 3 night stay, Site is easy to find and very quiet. Lots of footpaths and bridleways around to follow and spot the wildlife, we saw a Little owl within 10 mins on first walk, also seen were deer and hares, to name a few. The site is well looked after and both Lesley and Ady could not be faulted, attentive while at the same time leaving you own your own. Pitches do slope so ramps are needed, but there is no restrictions on which way you pitch, we ended up sideways on, to make the most of the view. The pitches are well spaced out with room for all, so if you are looking for a quiet retreat then you can’t go wrong here in our opinion.

Fabulous stay at Moorfield Farm Barn

Lovely welcome from Lesley and Ady, great hosts. The pitches were well spaced and had electric hook ups on each. Antibacterial spray was available at the waste disposal. Lots of walks really close to the site. The Carpenters arms is about a miles walk away which was nice for a drink. You walk passed a ruined abbey if you follow the footpath across the fields. There is also a licensed cafe at the top of the road. Really worth a visit. We will be going back in the future to explore more of the walks.
