Amazing Views

The stunning views from our pitch were sufficient to warrant 5 stars! As other reviewers have stated David is really helpful and always seems to be around to offer assistance or advice. Access is very good and whilst the last few hundred yards are up a narrow road, traffic is virtually non-existent so getting in and out is not an issue. There is a large Morrisons just 4.4 miles from the site and The Sun at Crook provides very good pub food with very generous proportions. The site is compact at about a third of an acre and we were thankful that we have a motor mover that allowed us to pitch up and depart without too much bother. All 6 of the hardstanding pitches have a tap…another added bonus. There are also plenty of blocks about which are required as whilst pitches are pretty level side to side several have reasonable slopes front to back…but then you are half way up a hill in the Lake District! Clearly a very popular site as all the pitches were occupied for most of our stay.

Lovely peaceful stay

Lovely CL with amazing views across kendal. We visited Kendal, Coniston, Hawkshead and Grange Over Sands all beautiful places and easy to get to. There's no pub near by but we found a nice pub called The Sun In which is about 6 miles away that does nice food but beware the sat nav will take you on tiny windey roads. This is a lovely well kept Cl and would definitely recommend it and stay again.

Lovely CL

We arrived here in very hot sunshine and the flies were unbelievable! Our neighbours had already had a week of dealing with them but the unusual very hot weather must have been the cause. This site is very peaceful and quiet and has beautiful views if your pitched on the right pitch. The bonus of the site is each pitch has its own water and electric. We had every season of weather whilst we were there apart from snow and ice.! The site is maintained by a nice lad David who was very keen to help with any issues. The location is very good for Kendal and the usual superstores are just a short drive down the A6 towards Kendal.

FANTASTIC CL.

This is the 5th time we have been here since it opened about 3 years ago and it never disappoints, the views are fantastic & it is so peaceful & quiet. James & Margaret are very welcoming and friendly. David who looks after the day to day running of the site as well as his jobs on the farm is second to not. There is no pub or shops near the site but Kendal is only about 8 miles away. With Bowness on Windermere and Keswick not to far away even Blackpool only about 1 hours drive there is plenty to see and do. THIS SITE IS WELL WORTH A VISIT REGARDS ERNIE & CHAR.

Peacefull CL

We stayed on this CL site for four nights, April 19 the. To April 22nd. It is well signposted off the main road, the views from the site are stunning, the site is kept clean and tidy and David welcomes everyone with a friendly smile. It is situated in a rather awkward place in relation to walking in either the lakes or the How Gills but is very convenient for visiting Kendal and all that town offers in the way of shopping. Unfortunately it has no wifi and, unusually nowadays, no information available on local places to eat and what to see and do or emergency contact information. However we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to other club members. Robert and Val

Superb site!

The other reviews are true! this is a truly excellent site with stunning views and great facilities. David was incredibly helpful when we were pitching-up and also as we left, driving ahead on his quad-bike to make sure the lane was clear before us. We'll be back for sure.

Fabulous CL......

Stopped at this CL en route from Scotland, wish we had booked longer! A fantastic site with the most stunning views across to Kendal. We would like to thank David for his local information and help. We will most defiantly be back with the Weston's Perry!!!

Wow, what a view!

Wow what a view! That was the first thing I said when we arrived at the farm after a mile down a narrow but very quiet road. We staid here in July and it was our first experience with a CL of the Caravan Club. It brought us everything you would expect from a CL. David welcomed us, showed us to our pitch and explained everything clearly. As we toured around in the Lake District with our campervan, we only stayed for one night. But we could have staid here the whole summer...

Super location, fabulous view

Our first visit to the site and this will not be our last. The approach to the site is easy, despite being up a narrow, but quiet single track road. David was there to greet us and helped us set up the caravan. Unfortunately for me I was not quite prepared as the slope on pitch 4 was slightly more than our auto leveller could cope with on one side, but after a trip to a local Jewsons I managed to buy some wood which, with David's help I cut down and we got the caravan level. We had a two week stay at the site. David was on hand each day checking around the pitches and ensuring things were all in order, opening and closing the gate in addition to his own day-to-day work on the farm. Although we didn't see Margaret during our stay as we were out and about a lot, James was often around then farm. During our stay we experienced the typical Lakes weather, dry and sunny one day, torrential rain another and heavy mist and fog on another but it's all part of the experience. There's plenty to see in the Lake District and indeed the site is well situated for slightly longer excursions into the Yorkshire Dales or north to Hadrians Wall. Davd was so attentive throughout our stay and was great to talk to about the farm and the area and he even showed me their local owls. A great two week stay at the CL and I'm sure we will be back again soon as we both love the Lake District. The views from the site, particularly on a find dry day are stunning. If you are a fan of an occasional chippy We can recommend Far Cross Chippy on the road into Kendal from the site. My wife reckons they do the best veggie burger and chips she has tasted. I would agree with her on other dishes they served up too! Thanks to Margaret, James and particularly David for a great two weeks stay

Bset of The Lakes

A return visit for us just to remind ourselves how great a CL can be. What a site, don't worry about the very quiet road that leads up to the site as its well worth it. Views right across a valley that you sit on the edge of.So peaceful with your own water and electric and the other services are handy as well. This is a real working farm yet James and Margaret find time to speak when the see you whilst their working on the farm. David carries out all the day to day running of the CL. He is so good and helps in any way he can with regard to any problems you may have and keeps the site impeccable. Shops are just down road back down to Kendal where you will find everything you will need.
