City break in the country - October 2012

Lovely site on northern outskirts of Cardiff. Level hardstanding, water, electric hook-up and chemical disposal as advertised. Exactly what we'd hoped for. Ever present rumble from the M4 but that's what made this site so easy to get to and so well-connected. Can heartily recommend the breakfast in the Antlers tea-room/farm shop. The farm shop was well-stocked so we didn't really need to take milk etc - beware though the shop is closed on Sunday. Members of our family who live in Cardiff had used the tearoom and spoke highly of it. Friendly staff in the shop and Mr Farmer (Phillips) was also chatty and welcoming. Variety of "petable" animals which would appeal to youngsters of any age. Straight run into the city centre and lots of local eateries, some within walking distance. Lovely views over the city and the Bristol Channel beyond from the two top pitches. Will definitely be going back
