Fabulous week at Newton Grove

We had stayed once before at Newton Grove, just for the one night and were struck by the peace and tranquility of the location that we vowed to return again. That return visit was for a full week, having departed the site this morning. This was our first real foray into staying without EHU for a reasonable period and apart from our battery and solar controller failing, all was good! To be fair, we had expected to need to sort those items out. Here's a link to the solar and battery problems. https://www.caravanramblings.co.uk/?p=4991 This is a also a great site to start your off-grid experiences because John has a few solar items for use by his guests - including a solar station where one can charge the laptop, toothbrush and even the leisure battery. Enough about technology. There are lots of walks in the area and places to see. On one day we visited Oxford, via a walk to Milcombe, Bus to Banbury and then train to Oxford. We also walked to Great Tew park and spent time at the Falkland Arms. I'm told the Falkland Islands are named after this pub. These days you're likely to bump into David Beckham at the Falkland Arms. Rousham house and gardens are close by. So many nice pubs we didn't get to visit so we will plan a return visit. We left today for a large club site in the Cotswolds and wonder why we are paying six times the price for a view of endless rows of white boxes.
