Wonderful 4 night stop, first time here for us! The site has all the facilities that we required, ehu, fresh water, elsan disposal and re cycle rubish piont. Very friendly and welcoming owners offering local advice including a printed sheet with all the bus times, pubs, walks, hospital numbers and take aways that deliver to the site. There is a railway line nearby but not intrusive at all!
The walk through the bunny to the sea is easy and not to far at all! We are both in our mid 70s no problem! The bus stops at the bottom of the drive to Bournemouth one way and Lymington the other via New Milton are fairly regular and we used them. Will return, thank you so much.
Little piece of happiness
We have been coming here for a few years and this is our third time this year. It is so peaceful, surrounded by mature trees, lovely grass pitches and just a mile walk to the beach.
Sue is a wonderful host, lots of local knowledge, printed bus timetables and very welcoming.
You can hear the odd train during the day but it's not noisy at all, just a gentle thrumming.
Takeaways delivered to the site and large Tesco Superstore about 4 miles. Bus stop near the site. We usually walk to the beach and along to Mudeford and catch the bus back to the local pub about 500 yards from the site. Great value meals and very popular.
We absolutely love coming here to recharge our batteries, just wish we lived nearer.

Don’t hesitate to try this CL in a great location
We really look forward to coming to this site and have been here several times now. Rest assured this site is very easy to find, with good access and extremely generous pitches. The pitches are flat and well kept and it’s a very peaceful place. The very occasional nearby train passing is hardly noticeable. The site owner is charming, personable and very helpful. The location is super for all ages, including a flat and pretty walk down to the coastal path and absolutely fantastic beaches. Wonderful for beach days or beautiful walks, all dog friendly too. Go west down to Mudeford Quay and Hengistbury head and stop for tea at the beautiful Highcliffe castle on the cliff top. Local pub is very pleasant with great choice of food and good atmosphere.
Avoid!
Avoid! Photos are misleading, it's a narrow strip of land with not much space between pitches. Despite having booked & paid (with a text conversation as proof) , I arrived to find the site full & was told I couldn't stay by a bloke who was covering for the owners who were away. I told him I'd booked & paid & showed him the text conversation. I tried numerous times to call the owner but there was never an answer. He rang her, & surprise, surprise, she answered. (She blamed poor signal!) The bloke was told by her first of all that I'd cancelled, then said I hadn't & someone who should have left hadn't. She told him I could stay in the paddock, scratched my roof on a low tree on the way into the paddock & no EHU which I’d paid for. This morning, the owner told the bloke that I didn’t have a booking, but told me by text that there had been a mix up and so would give me a refund. Again blamed poor signal for avoiding my calls and texts but bloke covering her got hold of her perfectly well. Noisy site right by a busy rail line too. Wouldn’t touch again with a barge pole.
Peaceful and relaxing stay
We stayed for a 3 night break. On arrival pitch was clearly marked with our name and an information sheet setting out local places of interest and recommended take aways which delivered to site. Chemical disposal could do with upgrading to a proper unit as opposed to lifting a manhole cover and additional water points would be useful but not a great issue. Owner is absolutely lovely and couldn’t have been any more helpful. We tried the food deliveries at her recommendation which were spot on. We had a lovely peaceful weekend and would highly recommend. We will definitely be returning.
A lovely break
We stayed for 6 nights & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A lovely CL with very easy access to local shops & a pub within walking distance which was an added bonus. Local beaches can be walked to if you're feeling energetic. Sue was very welcoming, but not intrusive, & gave us a sheet with handy local info including takeaways that deliver to the site. The access is down quite a narrow lane but easily negotiated with care. Will definitely be back.

Another great stay!
Our second very pleasurable visit to Oak Cottage. We feel this is one of the best located sites we’ve found in our 2 years of motorhoming, being within easy walking distance of a local shop, decent pub, and beautiful beaches. In addition, Sue provides a very warm welcome; she personally greets new arrivals and supplies each with printed local information. Many thanks again!

Super Location
We had a warm welcome from Sue with good local information provided. A few takeaways deliver to your pitch - fish & chips lovely!
Fabulous location, short walk to Highcliffe beach and bus stops near entrance to site to go to Lymington or Christchurch/ Bournemouth.
Hidden Gem
We received a warm welcome on arrival. Hidden away but close to beach and all amenities. Will definitely be back
Mick and Kim 😀
A warm welcome awaits you on you arrival
Sue and John welcomed us to their lovely secluded
C L site with plenty of useful info on local events and walks nearby including one through a wooded area down to the sea. Well situated to explore the glorious New Forest and coast will definitely be coming back!
