first caravan trip

This was our first trip to a Caravan & Motorhome club CL site after deciding to take the leap into buying our first touring caravan. The site was easily accessible from the A51 and provided all the essential amenities that were needed i.e. electric hook up and fresh water supply. We were greeted by Brian who showed us which pitches we could use and also helped us with setting up of our caravan as we were novices. Once this had been completed we made our way to one of the local restaurants/pub - the Boards Head - where we had a lovely meal. We then returned to the caravan to settle in for the night. During the night we could hear a few sounds of traffic - I assume it was lorries using the trunk road - but overall we had a peaceful sleep. We woke up to a gloriously sunny morning where I saw a flock of Canada Geese fly over the site, We travelled into Crewe for the morning and then went to Bridgemere Garden Centre for lunch. Mid afternoon we packed up (with Brian again assisting us with certain aspects which we were not sure about) before we made our way back to the caravan storage site. Overall it was a very pleasant one night stay and we have gained confidence from this, especially with the help we received with setting up and preparing to leave the site, which should make our future touring caravan adventures alot smoother.

Great cl

Just had 4 very pleasant nights stay at this really well cared for cl. The owners are helpful & friendly, entrance from the road is easy, pitches are a generous size with a choice of grass/ hard standing. We were impressed with the hand sanitisers and antibacterial sprays at all the shared facilities. Lots of places to visit in the surrounding area.

A VERY PLEASANT STAY

My wife and I have just returned home from a 5 night stay at Oakdene CL and we where both very impressed Alan and Susan who own the site where friendly and very helpful and came out to greet us on arrival The site is pretty level and pitches are a good size with a choice of grass or hardstanding We had no issues with the site at all Its on our favourites list now and we will return quite soon Also we where both very reasured by the high level of cleanliness especially with the dreaded covid 19 but Alan and Susan had this covered with hand gel and sanitser spray at all the shared areas on site There is also freshly laid free range eggs available which taste delicious Would highly recommend a visit Peaceful and quiet but plenty to do in the surrounding area if required Chris & Kay

A good cl.

A lovely site on the outskirts of Nantwich. The owners Alan and Sue are both very pleasant and welcoming. They provide a booklet about the area and places to eat and visit. The site is flat and they have planted trees between the pitches. A good site to visit and certainly one that we will go back to. Recommend it.

After Christmas Break

We have just returned from a 4 day break at this excellent CL. Alan, the proprietor, was extremely helpful and welcoming, explaining what we might wish to visit locally. We had a good, level hardstanding pitch and lovely open views. Although there was some road noise at peak times, this didn't bother us at all. The nearest pub, was in easy walking distance and there were 2 more pubs, all good for dining or drinking a little further on. Had a great stay and would definitely visit again.

A great new CL

We have just been visiting family in Nantwich for a couple of years and have just found this newly opened CL ( September 2017). Alan, the host, was most welcoming and is busy doing improvements to what is already a very pleasant site. There is a 16amp supply to each generous pitch with newly planted hedging between each one. Free range eggs were available on site as a bonus. We ate at the Boar's Head 300yds down the road as it is our family's favourite restaurant - we weren't disappointed. This CL ranks with the best in the area and will be our first choice from now on.

Holiday Break

Our first visit to Oakdene was in early September and as luck would have it we had good weather We booked on the spur of the moment and had not made plans for any trips out Fortunately Alan & Sue recommended several: Dagfields Antique Centre and the Nantwich Food Festival It was a good job there were cash machines in Nantwich! The Boar's Head was 200 yards along the main road which is modern and serves excellent food plus a large range of cocktails. In Walgherton village there are 2 inns that serve food and cask ales There are several footpaths locally and canal towpaths at Nantwich We enjoyed our stay so much that we returned in October & guess what....more sunshine! We wish Alan and Sue for the future and hope many more members will use their new site With opening in September 2017 they missed an entry in the bi annual sites directory I would hope that the Caravan & Motorhome Club would publish full page articles in the monthly magazine on these sites to raise awareness to club members Jon and Ann Howard from West Lancashire
