Second visit, more to come

Second visit here, it's handy for visiting a relative in a nursing home in Nantwich. Warm welcome by Jeff and Allison with complimentary eggs from their own hens. It had been very wet so the grass areas were quite muddy, but the hardstandings are wide enough to get past without acquiring mucky feet if you pitch sensibly. Evident that on a couple of pitches previous users had had awnings up and groundsheets down that had damaged the turf, which will take time to recover. The only drawback that we have encountered here is the lack of a footway on a fairly busy road that makes a walk to the pub and back a tad iffy. We drove to Audlem twice to do walks along the canal, but parking in the village can be tricky. Best at the weekend. Nearby Dagfields antiques and crafts centre is worth a visit, with the excellent Cheshire Pie Co selling all the grocery essentials at reasonable prices, including a good meat counter. Slightly further afield is Bridgemere Garden Centre, which is enormous and also has numerous retail outlets. There is a bus four times a day into Nantwich, but it doesn't go past the site, you have to pick it up at the pub or in Wybunbury village.
