Ease of arrival/welcome

Lovely views and warm welcome

We stayed for three nights over the early May Bank Holiday weekend. We were met on arrival by Christine with a lovely gift of free range eggs from the hens pecking around our feet!  The weather was pretty awful and so the grass pitches were very soggy, but there were a couple of hardstanding pitches so it was easy for us to pitch our campervan and also easy to come and go during the day. The site is sloping so you'll need levellers, but it's not too bad. The view over the fields looking west was lovely - one great sunset on Saturday over a wet weekend!  The site is just off a small road and easy to access, although it did seem to be a bit of a rat run for speeding cars. But the birdsong was also lovely.  Our main reason to visit was to go to Seaham beach to search for seaglass - free parking at Seaham Hall car park. The site is very close to Durham city - we didn't go in but driving through it looked like a lovely place to visit.
