Utopian CL

This site has to be visited by you because it has changed our views on what a CL site can offer. Booking for 12 nights we were apprehensive, as traditional CL site facilities can be wearisome with constant filling and emptying of fresh and waste water due to only being able to use the caravan’s facilities. However, we purchased an Aquaroll water mains adaptor and a 4m length of waste pipe which meant the caravan was full plumbed in. The chemical point is very clean, close-by and easy to access, so not too much effort there either. The site was neatly mown with ample pitch spaces (see site images) Orchard Meadow represented a c.£17 per night saving over the nearby Burford Club Site, at that time of season. WiFi was available and free which was another unexpected bonus. This all meant we could indulge ourselves at local pubs and shop at Waitrose in nearby Cirencester. On the subject of food, we were given a sheet for ordering fresh vegetable by Peter when we arrived, they grow it all themselves and I have never eaten such fantastic tomatoes. They were a variety with very few seeds and my wife, who dislikes tomatoes generally, is now a fan. In addition, there were also excellent new potatoes, carrots and Cavolo Nero. Orchard Meadow is twenty minutes walk from the quintessential English village of Bibury, which if you Google you may recognise the honey-coloured cottages and possibly the fact Arlington row was used as a filming location for many films and series, both at home and abroad (Stardust with Robert De Niro is one). Bibury trout farm (https://www.biburytroutfarm.co.uk/) is also worth a visit, we spent some of our savings from the Club Site charges on lovely fresh and smoked trout from the shop there. The main draw for us was the location of Orchard Meadow CL as there is access to many footpaths from the site, which can all be used in various combinations to make excellent circular walks ranging from 3 miles up to whatever you body can handle. When we arrived Peter and Julie gave us pre-planned and printed walks in the welcome pack and these formed the basis for many happy walks in our time at the site. One very unexpected bonus for me was that The Classic Motor Hub (https://classicmotorhub.com/) in Ablington, a five-minute drive, has a wonderful shop, café and collection of cars ranging, when we visited, including (amongst others) a 1947 Maserati A6GCS plus various Aston Martins and Ferraris. I do want to say it was not only the ease of staying at this CL site due to excellent pitch facilities and its location but also because of the very welcoming, relaxed and professional way in which Peter and Julie run things. It was a fantastic site and we will be back to stay again.
