Simple CL with a very warm welcome

We recently stayed at Page Farm for two overnight stops en route to and from France via Eurotunnel. The site is peacefully situated on the edge of a pretty village and comprises a lovely large, grassy field, albeit with a slight downhill gradient away from the road, with electric hook-ups, water tap and chemical waste disposal. Surrounding fields were occupied by various breeds of sheep and lambs, with delightful views to the hills beyond. It should be mentioned that the last mile of access to the site is via narrow country lanes with some passing places. Mr and Mrs Hobbs welcomed us warmly, as did their Jack Russell! After reading a previous review, we, too, enjoyed two excellent meals at The Gatekeeper at Etchinghill, a few minutes’ drive away. Following a night of thunderstorms and torrential rain, our car tyres were unable to grip on the soaking wet grass, rendering it impossible to tow our 2-berth caravan up the field to the road. Thankfully, Mr Hobbs and his Land Rover came to our aid and towed our entire outfit out with ease, enabling us to catch our scheduled train. Thank you again, Mr Hobbs! Fortunately, we had no such issues on our return visit. We would certainly return to Page Farm and definitely recommend it to anyone wanting an unfussy and peaceful stay in this pretty corner of Kent.
