Second Time Around. Needs to up its game !!!

So this was our second visit to Jervaulx Park House. This time we stopped for a week. 5 pitches as per CL arrangement, although we were told and witnessed this is not exactlt adhered to. 7 outfits whilst we stayed. In fairness, it just does not matter when you have over an acre of walled field to choose from. However on the weekend we arrived, a local Rally was just packing up. This would have seriously cramped the environment. All pitches are flat and you get 10 amps if you are lucky. The toilet block is OK I guess, although needed cleaning twice whilst we stayed. Again, not a problem if you use your onboard kit. Ian is a smashing host. He met us and showed us to our pitch. A great welcome as usual. It appears they have had a very poor 2 years, but were hoping that this years good weather (by Yorkshire standards) would give them a profitable season. Once again the grass was far too long. It always needs cutting. When they do cut it, they dont hoover up the cuttings, so it gets everywhere. You know what I mean. Biggest problem was the fresh water. Park House is now sharing its "spring fed" water with its neighbouring farmer. This means a trickle if you are lucky. A half hour to fill a 40 lire container. Again if you are lucky. Second problem. No WI-FI. Its 2013 guys. Every site, including CL's should have free WIFI as a mater of course. A big issue for us. Fortunately many of the local pubs have a free system you can use. On the good side. The site although only just within the Dales National Park is well placed for some of the best walks in the country. Most sadly you still require a car to get to the start. The local "Cover Inn" serves good pub food. Reasonably priced and looks after a fantastic Tim Taylor Ale. So in conclusion. Still a great site within a great area. But come on Ian. Please up your game just a little. WiFi please..... and see you next year !!!
