A Great Addition To The CL Network

There is no doubt that the Cotswolds area is crying out for decent CL's and here is one that has the potential to become the jewel in the crown. Booking was very straightforward and John, the owner, was on hand when we arrived to show us where everything was. The unmarked pitches are in a sort of semi circle at the edge of a huge field. There are plenty of hook up points together with two water taps. Grey waste water is into the hedge and the CDP is a short walk away by the barn which is also adjacent to the hard standing area. The ground was absolutely rock hard so I have no idea what it would be like when wet. The pitching area, together with the rest of the estate, is all close mown. There is plenty of walking from the site and John very kindly allows you to walk round the grounds which, if you have dogs, is very handy for first thing in the morning and late at night. Easy walk into Moreton-in-Marsh either by road or over the fields with Aldi, Co-op and Tesco Express together with cafes and pubs. A larger Tesco's at Stow-on-the-Wold. Site is handy for all the Cotswold honeytraps and there are numerous NT properties in the area. A couple of points to note that others may find useful - firstly, the wider back road into Moreton-in-Marsh from Evenlode is currently closed at the edge of M-in-M until September. This means additional traffic along the slightly narrower lane that leads to the site but there are places to pass.. Secondly, during August, the site owner has a licence for a pop-up campsite adjacent to the CL. Looking at the entry on the 'Pitchup' website, he can have up to 200 tents. Site is highly recommended and we will definitely use it again - £23 night for two adults with EHU.

Hi - it's in the same field at the far side (very large field). If you can look at Google Earth, you will see caravans closer to the lane - the tents are over on the far side of that field. It opened on the Friday that we were there and about 15 tents arrived (all in vehicles). By Monday, there were only a handful left. It did change the dynamics of the site - particularly the additional vehicles continually going in and out of the site. But to be fair, once the weekend was over, it calmed down.
