Lovely CL!!

A lovely CL with a warm welcome from Mrs. Hood.  Beautiful surroundings and peaceful site. The shower and toilet facilities are perfectly adequate and very clean.  30p for a 7 minute shower token gives you plenty if time and free range eggs are available from Mrs. Hood.  The site is very close to Truro, there is a spar up the road and supermarkets in close range plus many places of interest are within easy reach.  We would use this site again if we returned to the area.  Highly recommend it!

Beautiful CL!

Visited for the first time late April 2014. Splendid view, lovely pitches and a warm welcome from Mrs. Hood. The rhodedendrons, azaleas, clematis etc were all out and the sight was spectacular. Plenty to do in the vicinity. Truro close by. Bought lovely rhubarb and gooseberries, along with assorted plants from Mrs. H.

First night in our new camper

Visited here in early November 2013.Looked at two other local CLs before deciding this would suit us best. Mrs H was very welcoming considering we just turned up on her doorstep,we bought eggs from her and enjoyed her friendly dog and the country sounds of hens and cockerel. We were able to take our dog for local exercise in Mrs. Hoods fields having due regard for the sheep. Facilities clean and more than adequate, with views from our pitch but the site feeling "cosy" rather than an open field. We certainly hope to return when in the area.

We'll be back

I'm almost fearful of writing a review for fear of not being able to get in in the future. The site is perhaps smaller than most CLs because in essence it's in a back garden but my word what a garden! nicely terraced and wonderfully maintained. Depending on which pitch you get you can have a great view out over the valley. We were greeted by Mrs Hood on arrival, she made us most welcome. We didn't have a big choice of pitchs because the site was full but we were not unhappy with were we ended up. The toilet/shower block was spotlessly clean every day. There is just one WC and shower but we never found this to be a problem. The shower water heater works on tokens which can be purchased via an honesty jar at 30p for which you get 7mins (I think). Anyway I found the time more than adequate. The site is a couple of miles out of Truro and central for site seeing and coast visiting at the western end of Cornwall. The only caution I would mention is for anyone who is not a confident tower. The access is narrow and leads into a steep slope before levelling out further down. To conclude, Thanks for a wonderful week (even the weather was brilliant) and WE WILL BE BACK!

Proper Job

Our first time visit. Mrs Hood welcomed us personally and was very helpful. The pitches are very well maintained and clean. The gardens and surrounding areas are stunning. All in all a very pleasant stay. Thoroughly recommended.

Perfect Easter 2013

Making a relatively late booking we spoke to Mrs Hood on the telephone finding her to be very helpful and curteous. Arriving late afternoon on the Thursday before Easter we were greeted by Mrs Hood who showed us to our 'spot' and also explained where the services were located. Our motorhome was soon parked on the hard standing, and awning erected on lawned area. We had a wonderful private site overlooking the garden to the side of the house. The location has wonderful views, and the benefit of lovely fields (with brook running along the bottom) where the dogs can be walked. Eggs (from the owners chickens!), and plants (from the owners garden!) were also for sale. The amenities were very clean and tidy. Access to local places extremely easy as Truro is within 3 miles and King Harry ferry about 2 miles away. We look forward to staying at this location in the future.
