One of the most scenic off-grid CLs we've been to

As other reviewers have said, if you're fussy about how the CL is kept and mowed, this is not the one of you. It's basically a large, rather bumpy, very green field with longish grass and often a few sheep for company. However, it's got some of the best views you could ever ask for, is so tranquil and it's fantastic value for money! You need to bring your own everything for this one as it's not only off-grid but we never actually found the water tap and the septic tank for emptying the loo cassette was........well, my bloke's a plumber so he coped with it, but even he said it was a bit grim. BUT we loved staying here. We thought if was a fantastic site and we can't wait to return. We are very keen hikers and you can access some of the best walking in this area directly from the site. It's a very short walk to an excellent pub which does great food (The Old Dog, Thorpe) but at the moment it's still closed after the lockdown and won't open till next March
