This is a delightful, peaceful site , with lovely views over the surrounding area. lovely dog walks. There is a lot to do and see in the area ,but this would be better with a car . Our rather wide motorhome, while able to get into the site easily, was not ideal for pottering around some of the local lanes. Parking in Wells was impossible for us. We would thoroughly recommend this site for car/caravaners
Beautiful site
The owners have taken a lot of trouble to make the site comfortable for all pitches, lovely views,

A Little Peach
Great site, plenty space owner very helpful. What more could you ask for for £10 would recommend.
Grass cut to perfection.
Nearly didn't get off !!!!
Found it ok but the single track road was a bit hairy just praying no one came the other way as pull ins very small. Cant believe this site is a 12 monther as plenty of evidence that many have got stuck.
Owner very nice and view fantastic but I didnt sleep at night because field already wet and then rained all night .I was convinced we wouldnt get off but we did to my suprise but decided with more rain forecast not to go back for the second night we had booked and paid for as didn't want to risk it so paid to go somewhere else instead.
Owner needs to put some time in hard standing the entrance and a few pitches or just open mid summer!!
Our idea of CL heaven
OK, so the weather was sunny and warm all weekend, but even had it not been so this truly delightful CL would have won our hearts. To us, it's one of the very best we've ever used, and we've used a lot of very good ones over the years.
It provides all the basics - fresh water, electric hook-ups, waste disposal, chemical emptying facilities. I guess we've come to expect most, if not all, of these as the norm.
Where Pitts Farm excels is in its location and surroundings. The CL is a spacious field, bounded by hedges on three sides and a wood on the fourth. It slopes gently to one end, is otherwise flat and has a single hard standing for when the weather isn't as kind as it was for our visit. All around are truly splendid views over rural Somerset and even across to Dorset. It's a beautiful, wonderful view of English countryside with farmsteads and ancient woodlands. Wonderful!
The CL field were closely mown on our visit - John, the owner told us he'd taken notice of some earlier comments - and we found some peaceful and interesting walks down the lanes and across a number of footpaths.
The four, rather than five, stars for 'ease of arrival' is a nod to the fact that to reach this rural idyll you do have to drive the final 1.2 miles along a single track road. Bear in mind that there's very little traffic and we had no problems at all in our 7.2m motorhome even when exploring some of the narrower lanes in the area.
The location is great for visiting Wells, Glastonbury, Shepton Mallet and the Somerset levels. We loved our time here and look forward to coming back.

Basic but Ok
Unrestricted pitches and an easy going owner, we were unsure as to how long we wanted to stay and the owner was quite happy to allow us to 'play it by ear' and just call at the farmhouse to pay him once we had decided when we were leaving.
Ok the grass did get a little long whilst we were there, even tho it was cut during our stay, but with the weather we have had this year it's hardly surprising, the owner would have needed to cut it every two or three days to keep on top of it, and as it's a working farm we can see that perhaps it's not top of his 'to do' list.
One thing we would have liked to have seen, is the fresh water tap a little further away from the waste emptying point.

Disappointed
On arrival the bins were full and overflowing and the grass badly needed cutting. There was a really long walk to the farm and the farmer never called for the money. A little more TLC and the site would be OK. One person on the site had to borrow a strimmer to get grass cut round his unit.
