Why stay here ...

This is a peaceful site situated in the heart of the Somerset countryside, on the edge of the Mendip Hills. It is south facing with views over the Somerset levels. The site is part of a working farm but is about ¼ mile away from the farmhouse and buildings and therefore generally quiet.

Do not be put off by reference to difficulty regarding the country lanes - the farm's suppliers, including large lorries have no problems getting here.

The site backs on to a small wood and is sheltered from north winds. This means there is also an abundance of wildlife - rabbits, badgers and pheasants abound!

The field is level with unrestricted pitches. We are happy for you to pitch anywhere although this will depend upon how near to the electric hook up you need to be. We currently have one hard standing and are considering more but we are concerned not to spoil the natural feel to the site by making it too regimented.

We welcome motor homes, awnings, children and well behaved pets and do not charge extra for them!

There is a nearby public footpath to the historic city of Wells (approximately 2 ½  miles). There are good pubs and restaurants within 3 miles - also two 18 hole golf courses.

Nearby attractions include Wells Cathedral and Vicars Close, Glastonbury Tor and Wookey Hole Caves and Two 18 hole golf courses. We are close to Cheddar Gorge and the Bath and West Showground. The lovely cities of Bath and Bristol are only 45 minutes away.

Facilities on site ...

  • Dog walk from site
  • TV reception: good

Amazing place , peace , tranquility, stunning views .We are in 8.5 mtrs Motorhome and the access is fine . John was so helpful and welcoming. Fantastic price , lovely walk into Wells .Great sunsets , this is what cl’s are all about . Added bonus all the grass is picked up so no loose bits taken indoors . Excellent.

First stay and won't be the last!

Pitts Farm
This was our first visit to Pitts Farm as we are new to caravanning - we could not have wished for a better location. Easy to get to with John's directions and we had no issues with access from the main road. John was so friendly and kept the site immaculate. It was very quiet and relaxing.... rush hour was the next door neighbours cows coming in for milking - lovely! This is a great location for walks from the site with numerous paths in all directions. Highly recommend the view from Maesbury Castle (Iron Age Hill Fort). We will be returning in the near future.

Peaceful stay!

Pitts Farm
We stayed for two nights in July 2023. Good communication with John the farmer. Paid in advance by bank transfer. £15 pn to include EHU and putting up a tent. Ideal spot from which we attended a family event at Wells Golf Club. We were the only van on site. The grass was nicely mown and the field tidy. Hardly any traffic on the adjacent road. We had a very peaceful stay and would recommend the site.

Lovely site, perfect for visiting local attractions and an amazing position.

Pitts Farm
We stayed only for a single night this Easter, in order to provide a base to visit Wookey Hole with our 3 boys. The minute they were out of the car the benefit of a CL site was obvious as they had plenty of space to run around and enjoy themselves without hindering the other visitors. John popped by in the early evening to take payment and was very friendly. Surrounding area is beautiful and well worth a wander down to the farm along the quiet country lanes. Would highly recommend and will be back at some point! Also worth noting there was an issue with the electric supply on one of the pitches, but once the owner was aware there was an electrician there within the hour and it was all sorted.
