Outstanding views and walks

Only one small van on site when we arrived meant we had the choice of pitches. The hardstanding pitches were too small in length so we chose the least sloping grass pitch second from the end. Unfortunately, despite being fully chocked we were still badly sloping downhill so a quick call to Alison the next morning, we parked up alongside the fence in front of the very end pitch. By the third night our front wheel chock had moved outwards 45 degrees due to the slope of the field so pretty relieved when we finally reversed off the chocks. Sorry to say, I wouldn't recommend any motorhome over 8 metres and 4.4 ton in weight to attempt to pitch here, I wish we had known in advance how much of a slope it was. On the plus side, fantastic views and brilliant walks from the site, the dog loved it. The facilities are spotless, large decent showers, water tap on each pitch and electric included. This site is so peaceful, occasional vehicle on the road behind, and the clop of horses hooves are the only noise you will hear. Fantastic value for £19 per night. Didn't have the pleasure of meeting the owners whilst we were here but Alison was very pleasant and helpful on the phone. Well recommended to everyone in smaller motorhomes!
