A lovely night stay at Porch House. Lovely welcome from Michelle. Beautifully maintained site, small, quiet and surrounded by fields and nature. It was our first visit to a CL site and it’s been a brilliant first experience. Thanks Michelle.

Another Gem

A lovely peaceful Site, set in the Gloucestershire countryside. Access to footpaths and cycle routes. We've added it to our list and will be back.

Perfect location for us

This was the second visit to this lovely CL. We have friends in the area and it was a perfect base from which to visit them. It is peaceful and has a lovely view over fields.Plenty of space between vans. Michelle was as ever very welcoming and we'll be back I'm sure. We visited Newent and walked round the lake and also went to the Newent Arboretum. Trioscape, a garden centre and gift shop down the road towards Tibberton, offers very tempting retail therapy!

Perfectly peaceful

A short 2 night stopover on this welcoming, relaxed and well kept site. Large pitches with only 3 being used to ensure huge spaces between units during Covid times. Open views over fields and a good walk through countryside to be had. Having found this site will stay longer on my next trip through. Thanks Michelle.

Wonderful host

Our first CL site certainly didn’t disappoint, we were met by Michelle very welcoming, after setting up we sat admiring the uninterrupted views which was just so peaceful. The site has a lovely circular walking route about 40 mins walk which our dog loved. Close by is the small town of Newent, Michelle recommend the red lion pub for drinks, we found them very dog friendly and even brought out a treat for our dog. There is also a lovely lake to walk around with lovely views as well. Michelle gave us a few places of interest to visit but unfortunately time was not on our side. However we will be back to this lovely site to explore some more. Thank you Michelle for such a lovely stay.

Great CL

Michelle came to our rescue back in September 2020. We was looking for a CL for an overnight stop while travelling down to Cornwall. It was a last minute booking as a few days prior i managed to get a Friday afternoon off work. So wanted to start our 350mile journey south a day earlier. Its about 30mins off the M5. But totally worth it. Level grass pitches, facilities were covid safe, EHU available, easy access. Best access is to come off the M5 J11 and down the A40/A4215 then a right turn on to Glouster Road. This gives you a better angle to turn through the entry gates. So the entry is on your right hand side. Michelle, you and your family have a lovely CL. Thank

Excellent CL

I have to say this is one of the best CL sites we have stayed on if not the best. We went away for 2 and 1/2 weeks in total split between 3 sites but our stay here was the best week of the whole holiday. I can't thank Michelle and her family enough for the help they gave me when my husband was taken to Gloucester Royal hospital, by ambulance, on our first night of a weeks stay. Luckily he was allowed back out so we could resume our holiday but I knew if he'd have stayed in they would have made sure I was okay. The field is large and flat, there is a soap dispenser by the water tap to stop contamination and the elsan point is spotless. There are recycling facilities which are kept tidy and in order. Within a few hours of being there we had seen an owl, goldfinches, green woodpecker, squirrel, rabbits and the whole atmosphere was totally relaxed. On our last day we did a nice walk along the public footpath which has direct access from the site and goes around in a small loop. Hope to be able to return next year and use our bikes this time around the Newent loop which is direct from the site and the Birds of Prey which we didn't manage to fit in either.

Fabulous CL

Nothing negative to say about this excellent CL! Very spacious pitches in a large, flat field backing on to a large hedge with some impressive oak trees. Views up the hill with some entertaining young bullocks for company (the other side of the fence!). We saw squirrels, woodpeckers, robins, sheeps, rabbits and a kingfisher during our four nights in September 2020. Michelle and Rob both paid a visit and are very friendly and helpful. Easily found and accessed, this is a little hidden gem in beautiful countryside. There is a wc but this was understandably closed due to the virus. We don't live far away and will certainly return! Thanks so much for a lovely break!

Large pitches good location

Looking for a site for our first trip out this year (2020) and came across this site. Booking was very easy with my email promptly responded to, and payment via BACS. The site is located within easy reach of many attractions and walks, also not too far from the M5 if you are looking for a stopover. Roads to the site were easy, and entrance to the site, whilst feeling tight, actually has plenty of room to swing in and out. The pitches are large and some are under trees, but you can pitch quite far forward into the field. The last pitch is a long way from the EHU but the owners can lend you an extension to your cable if needed. Grass was short and pitches are pretty much level side to side, but do dip away a bit towards the rear. Nice outlook on to a field, with a high hedge to the rear of each pitch, a small paddock and then the road. There is a small amount of road noise, but as it is not a very busy road, it is not too intrusive. There was no noise overnight. Otherwise it is a really peaceful site. Elsan point was one of the best we've seen in a while, and water tap had a really good fast flow. Bins and recycling available. So glad we found this site, would recommend a visit. At £12.50 a night it really offers good value for money.

First time on this site

Well i was surprised at the size of the pitches plenty of room for the biggest of van,s and awning plus car never seen the owners until i went to pay them on our last day of a 14 night stay. the is a toilet on site clean ok if you don't mined the odd spider. the site is clean and tidy the only gripe i have is that the grass was a bit on the long side about 2" to 3" but that didn't spoil our stay would use this site again also would make a good stop over next time we go to cornwall.
