Ease of arrival/welcome

Very tight access

We knew the site had a tight access, but it is a tight access. Friendly welcome with everything on site explained. The pitches are all slopping on very uneven ground, the grass needs cutting shorter more often. We pitched away from the country road which could be noisy when tractors and vans drive past. The service area was well set out, clean and tidy, good TV and mobile reception. Good location for Wells.

Hello spudylight,

The entrance is not ‘very tight’ at all

Just so people are aware, the access is 3.70 metres/12ft 2” wide and via a quiet & wide lane for manoeuvring outside.

Careful consideration needs to be taken when deciding on the angle of your turn with the length of your caravan in particular.  Anything up to 7.50m in length is fine or up to 8m, if you are confident driver.  My best advice is to approach the entrance & also then the turn slowly.

The pitches are not perfectly flat, but it is misleading for other people to say they are all sloping, as they are not at all.

The ground is a field, it is not a lawn

The site is a CL & not a managed site.  So the grass is cut whenever we can & is weather dependant.  We had a lot of rain in April/May.  We also carefully consider if guests are staying in their caravan or motorhome before mowing around too.

Lastly, we are in the country & a rural area, the odd car, caravan & tractor or any vehicle will pass along it.

It is such a shame that you have entered such a negative, bad tempered review.  Perhaps the rain/weather put you in a bad mood not to fully appreciate the site, the location & lovely views around you
