A real getaway
We stayed 4 nights here, and enjoyed being able to walk into the forest from the site, or to the lake. A great base for walking and cycling, and for the places of interest along Hadrian's Wall if you don't mind a (very pleasant) drive. Make sure you're stocked up with supplies, and don't expect to get a phone signal. On the other hand, you're in a dark sky area, and the stars are beautiful on a clear night. Lovely views, although there are holiday chalets just below you. It might not be so peaceful in peak holiday season. Friendly and helpful owners.
