A Hidden Gem

I had second thoughts on leaving this review, considering instead to be selfish and keeping this beautiful little site for ourselves! Rayland really is a little gem that we have visited a number of times, despite only living 30 minutes away. It’s our bolthole away from the laundry, teenagers, DIY and countless other reasons for having a bolthole, and it’s a short walk across Shropshire’s countryside into the beautiful town of Bridgnorth with all the local facilities you could need. Do not miss Beamon & Sons Butcher or Catherine’s Bakery, plus the host of cafes and hostelries! And the open market every Saturday morning on the High St matches any French market I’ve visited (although the market on the car park is a little more what you would expect from an English market ie chavvy). Rayland ticks all our boxes for a quiet and peaceful stay in the country with excellent amenities nearby and we highly recommend it. There’s even a pub within a 5 minutes’ walk!
