Peace and quiet on the Shotley peninsula

What a lovely gem of a site this is! We often visit Shotley gate and had passed this site several times before deciding to have an overnight stay in February. Lovely welcome from owner, Sally. The site is set well back from the road; indeed, we hardly heard any traffic at all. Within a ten-minute walk you're down at Pin Mill, looking out across the river Orwell. This is a spectacular place to explore and was home to Arthur Ransome, famed for his Swallows and Amazons series of books. This site makes a perfect base for exploring the Shotley peninsula, Ipswich, and the surrounding area.
