Quiet CL with fantastic views

Stayed here for a long weekend had the site to ourselves for most of the stay. Grass is currently under seed. Easy to access and pitches are level we opted for pitch number 3 so we had a panoramic view across the valley. Waitrose and Iceland are in the town centre of Monmouth. LIdl's is across dual carriageway on Forest of Dean road. Pub noise is minimal and Owners were very welcoming. Will definately be staying again. Gloucester about 30mins away. Public Transport right outside.

Mayhem in Monmouth

We arrived on the Thur to a building site directly in front of the hard standings. We were informed that the contractors had been waiting for good weather. Unfortunately that bank holiday weekend was gorgeous hence work started! This went on for Fri and Sat. The owners said sorry and bought us a drink each! Not impressed as would have expected at least a reduction in site fees to compensate. We gave up on Sun a left a day early. We were refunded one nights fee. It will / should be lovely when its finished although we would have appreciated a phone call.

Very peaceful with stunning views

Visited 15/08/17 stayed 2 nights. Lovely site and to say it's at the back of a pub it was very quiet. The views are suburb and we found the owner very friendly. We didn't actually use the pub as we were meeting family but will definitely be back. The owner told us of his plans to enhance the quality of the site which were scheduled in the next couple of weeks.

In need of a little TLC

We spent 4 night at this CL site, It's in a fantastic location with great views. Access is easy and the site is level with hard standing water & electric at each stand so you don't need to move far for water. The only down side is the site needs a little TLC, Very over grown weeds to the front and sides of the site. The chemical disposal was in a strange place you have to walk through the pubs beer garden / children's play area to access. but on the whole it was a nice site and we would visit again, but it's just lacking a little attention

Welcoming pub site

Spent two nights here a few weeks ago, very easy to access via the pub car park and good stoned hardstanding and drive way should be OK what ever the weather. Views from the pitches are of the Wye valley looking over to Symonds Yate and Forest of Dean. Dog walking was up the road about a mile to a wood. Easy parking. The pub was very welcoming with good beer and nice affordable food. The land in front of the pitches was a bit untended and overgrown, not suitable for external ball games. Difficult to find the chemical disposal but it was there. The supermarket was in Monmouth which has a pleasant high street. Overall I would stay here again anytime.

Lovely site close to pub

Just had a two night break in this CL site. Right behind a lovely pub serving good food at a reasonable price. The owners were really friendly and helpful and were happy for us to stay later on the day we left.  About a mile walk into Monmouth town. Easy to access and very quiet through the night. Stunning views from the site of the Wye valley.  No road noise at all. Will definitely stay here again.
