The Royal Oak, Monmouth. £15.00 per night. September 2018. Easy access from the main road. Hard standings could have been smoother. Good TV signal, good 4g phone signal with 02. Nice views. Pub had a good selection of beers and food. Monmouth itself is a nice town, with plenty of shops and an army museum and local museum. Downsides. The chemical disposal point is quite away from the caravans, up through the car park and by the left-hand side of the pub. I hope that when the works finished outside the pub, they erect some fencing around it for privacy as its next to the outdoor seating area. Although there were signboards where you plugged your electric in for the caravan, there was no signage on it, nothing to say where the rubbish went or your chemical disposal. I feel that this site has a lot more to give, given some time and attention. Tip. Try to avoid arriving around school opening or closing times as the road out of Monmouth to wards the Royal Oak is almost impassable with park cars.
