We have used this site several times now. Mainly as a one or two night stop when our son was at Loughborough University. We now use it as a stopover in longer journeys up north. It is by a B road but I certainly wouldn't say the noise is excessive, I have stayed at far worse. I'm a light sleeper and if it was that bad I would not have returned. In fact we are able to use it both ways this year and am more than happy to stay. I have tried other places nearby. One has similar facilities (hook up only) and the other was a nightmare trying to book so I gave up. I think nowadays it is rare to be charged less than the £14 a night for a CL and certainly cheaper than a hotel. The owners are welcoming and not at all intrusive. They don't try to sell you their meat but you only have to ask. There are take away places in Barrow if you need them. For shopping or eating out Loughborough is also close by. Don't knock until you've tried it!
