Perfect Site

Had a fabulous 7 nights break at this site. Easy access to site. Toilet and shower facilities basic, but clean and adequate.  Village with shop, post office and 2 nice pubs within 10 minute walk. Bus into Chester Easy access to Chester, Wales and various places of interest. Many thanks to Sue and Adam for the duck egg, it was delicious  We hope to return soon

Excellent CL Site

We stayed at Sandy Lane Farm for two nights over this last weekend. The owners Les and Mandy were extremely welcoming, the site was well maintained, and Les regularly checked that we were happy with everything. The pub in the Village is excellent and the North Wales coast is very easy to get to from this site . We have very nice trips out to Llandudno and other places during the weekend. Highly Recommended.

Wonderful!

This is a lovely CL close to Chester yet in a very peaceful location.  A very level site with lovely walks round and about if you have a dog.  There is a supermarket 10 minutes away and the site is ideally placed for visiting Chester, Flint Castle, St Winifred's Well and the coast of North Wales.  The owners were very welcoming and helpful.  Don't forget to ask for fresh eggs from the farm.

PEACEFUL

My wife and I have been regular visitors in all seasons to SANDY LANE,and we can highly recommend a visit to this site.Where does one start! It's location is suitable for anyone visiting north Wales,Cheshire, the Wirral, and of course Merseyside. If you enjoy peace and space-tick.Walks in the country-tick.Birdwatching-tick.There are two local pubs serving food,a regular bus service to Chester(15mins),Mold,Wrexham and the nearby Broughton shopping park, containing a new Primark,M & S food hall,Tesco, with an Aldi opposite, a six minute drive by the way from Sandy lane farm. The owners Les and Mandy welcomed us on our visits, and nothing is too much for them to make your visit a warm and unforgettable one.I must add that Chester racecourse hold regular meetings during the summer months, which is a must for any lovers of flat racing.Bangor- on- Dee is 25 minutes away via the nearby A55/A483.To anyone wishing to visit this beautiful area,we could not recommend Sandy lane highly enough.P.A.fresh eggs available at the farm!??

Very Peaceful break - Just what we needed!

We spent 3 nights at Sandy Lane farm and had a really lovely time. We were accompanied by our two Yorkshire Terriers. The hosts, Mr and Mrs Cannon were really friendly and made sure we had no problems. The only trouble we did have was when we fused our hook up but that was quickly resolved when we knocked at the farm house. The surrounding countryside is absolutely beautiful and there is only a short drive into Chester which is a very old city. We walked all around the roman walls and visited museums etc. We went to Rhyl and Colwyn Bay and Snowdonia. We even went to the cinema! All within driving distance. Fresh eggs were available at the farmhouse which were delicious. The field was wet but you cant help the weather and it did seem to firm up very quickly after only two dry days. We would definitely like to stay there again if we find ourselves in the area.

Memorable first outing

This was our first outing in our caravan. Upon arrival we went to the farm house and was greeted by Mrs Cannon, who was very welcoming and explained everything to us. We proceeded to set up the caravan and awning but were having trouble, defo newbies. Mr Cannon, but told "please call me Les", helped us to sort things out. Later on my son and I saw Mrs Cannon, Mandy, she recommended places for us to go. Mold market was very good. There was also fresh eggs for sale at the farm house, can't get any fresher than that. The site was very clean and tidy, the wild birds a joy to hear. There were lambs in the field behind us, what a lovely site first thing in the mornings and to hear them. The shower block was well maintained and cleaned regularly. Even though the weather was not good the atmosphere on the site was a very pleasant one with some lovely neighbours. Mr and Mrs Cannon were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We are certain to go back again. Thank You Les and Mandy. x

Disappointed

Spent 3 nights here in March 2016 having looked at the website and read some reviews. Sadly, it didn't live up to our expectations. We know Higher Kinnerton well. Its a lovely village. It's a good location for Chester, Wrexham or Broughton Retail Park. The site is well located, but the undulating field has no hard standing and was deeply rutted by tractor tracks following a period of rain. The website says that it never has a drainage problem as its on very sandy ground. Sadly, this was not the case. The ground was very soft and was in bad need of a heavy roller. Half of the field was staked off as if out of bounds. We set up on what remained, but the electric hook up by our pitch didn't work. We needed our fully extended reel to reach another. What facilities there are ( A prefab hut with toilet and shower) need updating and are tired. There is a sand quarry at the end of the entrance drive, which takes heavy wagons several times a day on weekdays. Nobody came to see us throughout our stay. Although we made the most of our few days  (The nights are very quiet and there's little light pollution) the £13 per night didn't really seem the good value that we thought it was going to be. Doesn't need a lot doing to improve, but needs it all the same.

Quiet site- good for Chester and surroundings

Had a two-night break here over the bank holiday weekend. Site is well spaced out, with good access to the electric hookups. Access is easy, with plenty of room to manoeuvre into pitches. Grass field is slightly sloping, but our pitch was perfectly level! Toilet and shower is combined into one outhouse room- but perfectly usable with plenty of hot water- flip-flops would be advised though! A good site and one I would use again.

Yes, I would visit this site again :)

Easy access into this site which was surrounded by daffodils at Easter. Flat field with pitches well spaced, quiet location with pubs within reasonable walking distance and well placed for a choice of walks; good area for cycling too. Basic shower and toilet facilities were most welcome; friendly helpful site-owners.  We had an enjoyable stay at Sandy Farm and would return to this CL.
