Lovely CL with wonderful views

Setting is superb - you can even see Bempton cliffs. Very peaceful. Ideal for exploring this lovely part of Yorksire. Excellent walking country. Only down side is the pitches can be a little muddy in inclement weather!

Superb CL with excellent access to the North York Moors

Access to the site is good and is only a few miles off the A170. The last 2 miles is single track road with passing places but other motorists were courteous and reversed for us! Please note that the postcode does not take you right to the farm. It will take you to another CL - Granary farm - about half a mile away. Have a good look online before you go to clarify this. We got a little lost which was a first for us.  A welcome was on the board as we arrived pointing us to our pitch number. A good size site with plenty of space for our 2 young boys to play and awesome views of the south from this elevated viewpoint. Facilities are good with a nice clean toilet in a shed, no wash basin though. The only slight complaint would be the water pressure is poor and it took ages to fill the aqua rolls up, other members mentioned this too. The grass was kept very short, like a bowling green in fact.  The farmer was very busy this time of year with the harvest but found time to come and chat on an evening to the caravanners.  This is a great place to stay to explore the local area; we visted whitby, scarborough and the beautiful dalby forest.  We will certainly be back, this is a new favourite for the yorkshire coast. I wish all CL's were as good as this one.

Good and quiet CL

It was nice to have the welcome on the board at the entrance to the cl, no doubt of been booked in. Good dog walking on private roads-but here's the one let down-there seems to be members who think it's beneath them to clean up after their dogs and the same who allow their dogs to roam freely. The views are outstanding but Scarborough town is a bit frayed round the edges

Beautiful views

We are fair weather caravanners, and only go when the weather forecast is good! Our friends recommended a site in Sawdon, but they were booked up. So we went back to the Club book and promptly rang Sawdonheights. Once through Sawdon, the road does narrow down, but it is only for a mile. You drive past Granary Farm site for 300 yards and the farm entrance is on the left. The drive is fairly steep, but you can see the campground and the access is easy. We parked at The pitch in the corner went to see the farmer and confirmed we could pitch there. We needed to use levelling blocks, but once set up the site has most stunning views over the Yorkshire Wolds. There are hook ups and we found a very clean toilet in the shed behind the hedge. the caravans are well spread out and there is plenty of room. We loved this site and will certainly be back when the weather forecast is as brilliant as it was last weekend!!

Good CL

Although the last half mile of public road is narrow in places it's worth it when you arrive. The CL has plenty of room between pitches and yours is notified in the notice board at the site entrance. The toilet is found in a wooden shed behind a hedge and is very clean and functional. The views are very good and so are the free range eggs bought at the farm. TV reception is good with all the Free View channels. All in all a very good CL
