what a beautiful site, clean well cut grass, owner was spot on with her directions, first time in Richmond and we will definitely go back,
stayed here for a week watched the Lambs running about in the field next door,
so peaceful and the weather was great, Mr and Mrs Porter were a lovely couple ,pleasant to talk to and very helpful
Visited here for 4 nights. This is a clean, well maintained CL. Beautifully lawned with level pitches. Great walks, 45 minutes to the town of Richmond through National Trust woodland alongside the river Swale. Visited Richmond Castle and Easby Abbey. Friendly owners. This is a good base for visiting nearby attractions.
We recently had a 2 week stay at this superb CL and have to say I agree with all previous reviews. After following the very comprehensive direction details to the site (sent Via E Mail) you arrive to a very wide tarmac entrance. There are several EHU points with water taps along side, so plenty of scope as to where to pitch. The CP/Waste water disposal point is well thought out with regards to use.
Mr & Mrs Porter are very friendly and helpful. If you like a nice peaceful site this is the one for you. We will definitely be returning.
Excellent CL with scenic views, forest / river walk into Richmond from site and great pub just along the road,
Helpful owners who are there to assist where required
The wife and I stayed here for a weekend. This site ticks all the boxes.
Spacious with EHU and a toilet.
Friendly and welcoming owners (that answer the phone)
Great real ale pub about half a mile away.(dog friendly)
Fantastic walk through woodland and along river to Richmond. Hilly and muddy in March, takes 45 minutes. Lots of pubs and shops here and places to visit.
Very reasonable cost of £13 a night inc electric.
A very clean and tidy site with a nice view.
Tomtom with latest maps on iphone took us straight here without problem. The owner will kindly email you directions as some roads are narrow and best avoided.
A very enjoyable stay and no complaints at all.
spent a grand week at this site, so clean and tidy, looking forward to our return visit. plenty space between vans, friendly owners, lovely suroundings. well worth a visit
This is a propper CL excellent level pitches on grass but appears well drained. Very well kept in all aspects. Owner was most welcoming and helpful on arrival. Very nice woodland then riverside hour and half walk to Richmond accessible direct from the site but be warned the path is narrow and has shear drop into valley, path is also steap in places and is unfenced, if you have a dog even a well trained one I would urge you to keep it on a lead if navigating this route for its own safety. All things considered this is one of the best CL sites we have stayed on and would be an ideal base for an extended holiday as apart from the immediate area many places worth visiting are a short drive away.
We would definitely return.
Close to Richmond, one of England's most beautiful market towns, and adjacent to National Trust woodlands. Plenty of space and good facilities. Recommended.
We used as stopover and will definitely be back. A short walk to a nice community owned pub. Various options for walking and cycling - get the guide from the pub. Not far from Richmond. Some hard standing areas for the wet weather and all other facilities are fine.
Just got back from our first visit to Scar Close and we were very impressed. Nice warm welcome with lots of useful information. The site has good access and plenty of room between caravans and it is also very pretty and quiet. Lots of options for walking from site and a pub up the road. It's a five star site for me. We will be back.
