Lovely CL

This is a must visit CL if you like N.Yorkshire. Route through Richmond is littered with speed humps on a hilly road so watch out. CL itself is a large field for 5 vans and a small 3 van site called the Beeches. We stayed on the Beeches. Water and electricity close to pitch. Wonderful views to the east. Good walks from the site into Richmond, although a bit up and down! We will definitely be visiting again next year.

Another lovely visit

Our second visit to this very nice CL, just the one night, but we intend to return! Set up above Richmond in the small village of Hudswell, the site has lovely views to the East, has a nice big entrance and there are two areas to choose from, one a large grass field, closely mown, the other a smaller enclosed area with a hard drive, so this is good for wetter months. The CL has all the usual basics, ehu, recycling, water points and Cdp, all in good working order. The welcome was lovely and friendly, there is an excellent dog walk into NT woods direct from the pitching area, and everyone has lots of room to pitch up, so you can pitch as you want to suit individual needs. Richmond with supermarket, petrol, some lovely shops as well as all the fantastic historical attractions is very close, about 5 minutes drive. Only word of caution is for speed humps through town. The countryside around is lovely, you can even watch Army practising firing on certain days. There is a toilet on site, but we use our own facilities, so didn't need this. All in all a lovely return visit to a very nice CL.

Great Site

Another gem in the crown. Lovely cl with great views and plenty of excellent walks straight from the site. Within walking distance of Richmond and swift drive to shops at Catterick Garison. Toilet was a little odd at first appearance being a portoloo in a shed but with proper plumbed in loo! However it was well stocked with paper and always spotless. Good facilities to take on water and to recycle waste plus a useful info cabin. The one thing I have marked this site down on is peace and quiet as it the yard adjacent is a fencing works and hence the workers with sometimes large machinery did turn up quite early in the morning. This did not bother us but it may some people.

Best one yet!

We stayed for a week on this lovely site July 2015.  The owners were very informative and friendly.  There was ample space between each van with water close to each pitch.  The site was easy to get to and the access was a wide tarmac drive leading to a flat, grass, well tended site.  Fantastic walks around including one taking you to Richmond either along the river path or a field route above the tree line. We would definitely stay here again.

Little Gem

Just spent a wonderful long weekend at this little gem of a site. The owners are very friendly and helpful and the site is well kept and very peaceful. Its an ideal site if you have a dog as there is a gate at the end of the field which goes into the woods and you can walk all the way to Richmond without going near any roads. Will definitely be going back very soon.

Spot on

A lovely level quiet site.  Access to Richmond by bus or scenically on foot by the river. Pub in village but didn't get to go there.  Friendly lady owner.  Walks from site.  Information shed.  Ideal.

Beautiful, Quiet CL

My partner, Myself and our dog stayed at this CL on our first ever caravan trip this weekend. Although very easy to find we missed the turning and in panic called the owner to check where we could turn around (having never towed before). They were kind enought to actually came and collected us!  On arrival at the CL there was loads of space so it was easy to park.  The field was flat with loads of space between the five vans that were there.  The grass was immaculate even after it rained most of the first night.  There were other fields and woods adjacent so no noise.  TV reception was excellent, although we were reluctant to watch it with such beautiful surroundings outside.  We could not have been in a nicer place for our first trip.  Thank you to our hosts and we will definetely return.

Lovely spacious CL

Very well kept CL which is quiet and has good views to boot. We stayed for six nights and could have stayed much longer.  The grass is kept regularly mown so no long cuttings to stick to your shoes and get trodden into the van. Lots of water & ehu's You can walk the dog directly from the site. We walked into richmond (and back) via footpaths through the woods. Richmond is a lovely town, we spent all day there. Loads of other things to do locally. Thoroughly recommend this CL.

A Little Haven

What a gem of a site very peaceful and relaxing. When we arrived Mrs Johnson met us and informed us where to locate our motorhome and advised us where things were. The CL site has large pitches with plenty of water taps and ehu. The waste disposal site is situated in this field. We were in the field called Beeches which has room for 3 caravans/motorhomes. The grass was immaculate maintained and reasonably flat with water taps and ehu. There is a small information shed at the entrance to the Beeches that has a vast amount of information regarding forth coming events, bus routes etc. (Mind your head coming out). There are plenty of dog walks near by as the site is on the edge of National Trust woodland. We walked into Richmond via the main road which was quite scary as the cars tend to travel with some speed on the road. We got a taxi back which only cost £5.50. There is a small shop and a pub in the village if you do not want to walk into town. Value for money at £12 per night.
