The best CL in the UK

A gem of a site set in a dream location. This site is everything you want, well kept, well managed and owned by two people who really do care about you having a great stay while your with them. The site located just outside Appledore and has great access, I have a 10 metre Motorhome and had no problems at all with the access.  Robert and Alice are a lovely couple and looked after us so well.  Thanks for making our stay with you so special. Ian & Corinna.

Fantastic location

What a fantastic location . Easy access onto the site and a short stroll to the coast path and walk into Appledore . Beautiful mowed grass and flowerbeds with plenty of space between pitches and amazing view from the site over the nature reserve to the sea. Sadly we had to contend with storm Kate on our second night which resulted in getting the van stuck on leaving but I rang Alice the lovely owner who had her husband Robert arrive within 5 minutes to tow us off site. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely first class CL

Easily approached CL (no narrow Devon Lanes) with double width gates which will be appreciated by the owners of the larger rigs.  The site itself is open and level with wonderful views over parkland and on out to sea. Access to the walks offered by the park in front is excellent - we took the car then discovered it was well within walking distance!  Plenty of things to see and do in this beautiful area and really nice hosts to boot. Thoroughly recommended.

A GEM

You would be hard pushed to find a more carefully thought out and laid out site than this one. We had much rain but the ground remained firm. The owners really care for you and the quality of your stay with them. We only went to find a rescue German Shepherd - and they cared about that, too! Let me say our mission was entirely successful. And the water! Guarantee it will give you the best brew of tea that you've had in a long while!

Fabulous CL in stunning location

We stayed for 2 nights when the weather was not kind to us. Large, well maintained camping field with lots of space between pitches. The field must be well drained as we did not get stuck in the mud with our van after the heavy rain. Lovely welcoming owners. They do not live in the house next to the site so don't try to check in there. Views are amazing from the site. You need your own shower/toilet but site has full empty facilities, hook ups and water. 15-20 min walk into Appledore. We found 2 nice places to eat there - Seagate hotel does very nice food even though the portion sizes can be a bit small. The Champ pub though is outstanding. It does very interesting 'soul' food using local produce. Try it if you like delicious food which is a bit different from anywhere else.

Beautiful site in a beautiful location

We stayed 7 nights on this peaceful site. within walking distance of the unspoilt fishing village of Appledore. A 10 minute walk up the hill to a bus stop with buses every 20 mins into Bideford with connections on to Westward Ho and Barnstaple to name a few. The site owners are lovely friendly people who made us feel very welcome. You need your own toilet and shower facilities but everything else is available.  We will definitely go back

Lots to do in a lovely area

We stayed 4 nights here and were impressed with the way Alice and Robert have developed their site.  Well kept grass, lovely flower beds and units are nicely spaced out. There were lots of nice walks and we didn't move our motorhome at all, preferring to use the nearby (and frequent) bus service. We would have given a perfect score if there were hardstandings, although the ground is well draining we had to leave our pitch carefully so as not to chew up the grass.  We would definitely use this site again,

Peace And Tranquillity

Just returned from 5 lovely nights at this CL site. Alice and Robert have made an excellent job of maintaining this lovely site. Within walking distance of Appledore and Westward Ho! where you can have Hockings ice cream. Lovely views overlooking Northam Burrows with lovely walks to the beach. This CL site is local to me which is a bonus and being adults only gives peace and tranquillity. Hopefully shall be returning again in the next few weeks.

So Peaceful and quite

This site being Adults only is the Bee's Knee's. The owners have planted the surrounding area full of flowers etc, the site is flat, and easy to get to. The owners are very nice. The outlook over the Burrow's is excellent complete with sunsets. The donkeys are so quite. Getting around is so easy, as access to all the main routes are within minutes away.

Five star site

My wife and I (& dog) have just come back from staying at this immaculate, well kept site overlooking the Northam Barrows and Westward Ho! after a two night stay. As soon as we arrived at this spacious and very well looked after site we knew we were going to have a fantastic stay.  We met one of the owners Alice, who was nothing but helpful, without being around too much. Our pitch overlooking the barrows which was perfect, and our neighbours were three donkey's...don't worry we did not hear a peep out of them! Walking to Appledore and Westward Ho! was very easy and only about a mile either way. We really liked the walk out of to the coastal path from the site which goes across the back of the golf course onto the beautiful sandy beach of Westward Ho!  We would recommend this site to everyone, and will definitely be back again before the end of the season, and again again next year.
