Great LocalPlacesOfInterest

Lovely site in a great spot overlooking the sea. 10min walk down to the beach, which is great for the kids, and easy access to the coastal paths.  Owners friendly.  Grass seems a bit long both times we have visited, but it dries quickly after rain so not caused us any issues.  I suppose keeping it cut short in an exposed location may not be good for the grass.  Site is sheltered by hedges on a couple of sides, but would recommend awning straps as it is exposed (which is good to take in the views!).  We were there this year in the summer storm and the awning was OK with the straps on.  We didn't use the facilities as we have decent ones in the van.  I like the fact that you can choose to pay to use them or not which seems fairer for people who don't want to.  We will definitely use this site again.

Fabulous LocalPlacesOfInterest

Lovely site, warm but unobtrusive welcome, facilities clean, access to coastal path 5 minutes and Fabulous beach 10 minutes. Peaceful all the time, lovely to see all the children enjoying the fresh air and natural environment in the Cool camping field - I remember doing that.....many years ago! Would definitely go again.

lovely view

We stayed on this site for a week with a touring caravan and electric hook up. This could be a lovely site, the location is wonderful and has really good sea views, shame about facilities. We were greeted on site by a note saying everyone was out but to pitch in the left field and they would call to collect our money later. A key was left for us to use the shower/toilet. The caravan club field and the tent field next door share one shower/toilet all in the same room (which you pay and extra 50p per person per night for). Which is really inconvienient if you need the toilet and someone has just gone into the shower. Also the shower/toilet room doesn't have a lock inside apart from the key, which if you don't turn in the lock someone else can knock out and get into the room. Somedays there was toilet paper and other days not. When we arrived it was very wet but dried out towards the end of the week, there were a few comments from campers about the length of grass which the owners didn't seem bothered about cutting.

beautiful situation with views

This is a beautiful area of Pembroke and although the weather was very variable when we were there, there was still a lot to enjoy. With a large sandy beach 15mins walk away and a bit longer coming back as it is uphill. The site is a large field with more than enough room for 5 vans. The grass could have done with cutting, this may have been due to the earlier rain but there were opportunities to cut it. It is also exposed to winds, so be warned and make sure your awning is well pegged down. There are lovely views from the site, which is very quiet ( apart from 1 night when a caravan pitched up 12.30pm, shining lights into our van and making me jump out of bed wondering where I was.) There is a camping field adjacent which is not noticeable from the site but be warned the toilet and shower get busy. We paid 50p per person per night for the use of the joint toilet and shower but ended up using our own as they were always busy. The pitch fee was a very reasonable £10 with electricity Part of the road to the site is very bumpy, so you need to take care. Having said all of the above, we would consider visiting again because of the location and if the grass had been cut it would be worth the 4 stars I have given.
