Stayed only for 1 night as a stopover, very welcoming, great grass pitch ( plenty of space ) would definitely stay again for longer next time. Great to have Shower and Toilet On Site also, good idea. Many thanks. Elton & Louise

Nice c/l

  • Nice cl with very well spaced pitches, with tap. Also shower & toilet.States potwash to but this is not in place yet.Price is top end for a cl but a serviced pitch on a clubsite or similar would be nearly double this. Peace and tranquility marked down  due to some noise from the farm at the end of the lane.Lots of bleeping from farm machinery which would start early am and go on untill dusk. Not a great disturbance but would be lovely and peacefull without it. Owners friendly and are caravanners which was nice. We found the phone signal on vodaphone was reasonable most of the time, mobile wifi on the 3 network had a outdoor only signal so needed to hang the device out of the van window.I am mentioning this as mobile signals can be very patchy in north norfolk.Tv reception was ok on most channels. Overall a very good cl.

Great CL

On arrival owner saw us very friendly. Individual pitches with own water tap and electric point. Buses stop hourly opposite site and you could travel all along the coast from this point changing buses in Wells drivers very helpful to drop you off right outside Site. Only complaint. Need a new shower head. Enjoyed our stay.

Peace and Quiet

This is a lovely quiet CL - just as described on Mr Polson's website. Excellent, large pitches. Very clean toilet/shower facilities. Friendly (but not intrusive) owner(s). Hourly (as at 2017) bus service to Wells/Fakenham. After numerous incidents with badly-behaved dog-owners, Mr Polson has made this a "No Dogs" site which is an added bonus. Wish there were more CLs adopting this policy. Highly recommended CL!

Lovely and well situated

Had a lovely week here, the site is well located for North Norfolk. Easy access down lanes that are just wide enough for passing, Grass is well kept and mown and pitches are marked into defined areas by low shrubbery. Welcome was very warm and friendly and the site has a tea room open on weekends with amazing cake. The washroom areas are acceptable but not sparkling clean but there is plenty of hot water. There are no shops in the area so you have to travel to Wells which takes about 10/15 minutes. The price is a little steep at £16.80 a night especially compared to a full CC site we stayed at the week before for £17.00 with far more spotless facilities, but the sun did shine and we did have a lovely time so didn't grumble too much.

Good enough to go back to.

Although dogs are not allowed on this CL there was regular noise from next doors dogs & when they howled they howled. This along with the constant stream of traffic to the farm at the other side meant that this was not the quietest site we have been on. However for all that it is a well kept site, with a friendly owner, and decent sized pitches. As a centrally positioned base for visiting North Norfolk it is as good as you could wish and we hope to return again next year.

Sunny but Cold Easter 2013

We left Buxton in Derbyshire with deep snow on the ground looking forward to a long week in North Norfolk. After an event free journey we arrived at Shrublands to a warm welcome from the site owners. We had a choice of pitch each pitch is defined with its own hedge offering extra privacy. The field is a good acre with flat well draining land so no need for wellies. All the usual facilities, electric hook up plus a toilet and shower both with hot and cold water. We were woken each morning by the local bird population serenading us truly lovely. Shrublands is a couple of miles inland from Well-Next-The-Sea on the edge of the very attractive village of Wigton which has 5 roads radiating out making it an excellent base to explore from. A great site for couples or families who enjoy peace and tranquillity we will be back.
