Why stay here ...

Shrublands is located 2.5 miles inland from Wells-Next-The-Sea. The site is Level, firm and very well draining and sheltered by a surrounding hedgerow. There are 5 set pitches (minimum 45ft wide) positioned around the site in bays formed by hedge partitions.

1 toilet and 1 shower onsite (use included in pitch cost as is awning & power hook-up).

Maximum of 4 persons per pitch.

New sink/washing up area now avalaible.

Track entrance provides good access but if approaching from road opposite (Crabbe Road) visibility is restricted from the right by a high bank. Farm vehicles share track.

Good walking, cycling from the site (track/bridleway to Wells within 70 mtrs and quiet byroads (Shrublands is on the East Coast cycle route 1). Bus (Coasthopper) stops hourly at Shrublands entrance (50 mtrs from site).

We regret Shrublands does not accept dogs.

Enjoyable stay

We visited this site in April and we find it an ideal site for us as it has EHU and water to every pitch. With Covid, and using own facilities, having your own water tap was ideal. The site is in a very good position for seeing north Norfolk, we have booked for next April again. The pub down the road is good for food and a drink. I feel the previous review has been unfair to the site. We have visited Shrublands many times, and have seen gradual improvements to the site. The owners are very friendly. As for phone signal, we are Vodafone and have never had a problem with a signal.

Shrublands - odd one out

All the previous reviews sing the praises of Shrublands but unfortunately I’m the odd one out as there are too many downsides. It is peaceful, village location and within walking distance of the pub and plenty of POI. The site and it surrounds need a good dose of tlc, at the moment it looks like Something akin to Steptoe’s yard. There is no WiFi and no telephone signal. The toilet and shower have no heating so unusable at this time of the year. Above all IMO it’s not worth £18/night. It is very unlikely that we will return

Garden site

This site is great, each pitch is surrounded by greenery on three sides giving a real sense of privacy. Tubs of colourful flowers add colour, also the water point on each pitch is so convenient. There is also a shower and separate loo. Wells-Next-The-Sea is easily accessed by car, there is also an hourly bus service throughout the day with the bus stop at the bottom of the track. We had a lovely week here and hope to return.

Lovely site, lovely location

This was our easter holiday this year. Lovely site, we fed the birds too like another reviewer said. Toilet and separate shower. Basic but clean. Wash up area. Loads of places to visit nearby. Really enjoyed this trip. Thank you

Little gem

This was the first time away in our motor home and we couldn't have chosen a better place. Really peaceful and local pub 5 minutes walk away. Nice cycle ride into Wells along a quiet track, will try Holkham next time. Good pub at Warham too which is 2.5 miles and you pass the Iron Age Fort on route. We cycled everywhere from the site but I believe the bus service is very good. Don't forget to bring plenty of raisins for Scruffy the blackbird, he eats out of your hand! Thank you Graham & Susan we will be back soon. Julian & Liz
