First visit to Lincolnshire

Directions to the site easy to follow and plenty of space between pitches. Information on just about everything in the "hut"-shall have to visit again to try the eggs! For people with a disability there are many places to visit and everyone was most helpful. A big" thank you" to Richard for his DIY skills and a warm reception from Nicola.

Excellent CL in a really convenient location

This is a really well laid out CL, just the right size allowing plenty of space for each unit while the centrally sited CTP/waste and drinking water points are within very easy reach for all. The phone booking and emails with the owners were extremely efficient and they accept various payment methods, including PayM and BACS transfer. Nicola was very friendly and helpful and the access to the site is very easy. The CL is placed perfectly for visiting Lincoln and surrounding attractions and the nearby Whisby nature park is also very worth a visit. We enjoyed the wildlife on the CL too - watching a hare running round the adjacent field from your bed in the morning is the perfect way to wake up. The info shed is a really nice touch, with lots of leaflets and helpful info. Our only disappointment was the hens weren't laying while we were there, but it's a good excuse for a return visit ;) I have scored the site 4 for 'peace' as the A46 is audible from the site, although for us it was never a problem and not really intrusive.

Impressed

Stayed 4 nights here in our Motorhome and were impressed by the neatness and easy access to all the facilities. It was good to have a well kept information office, it was a bit of a hike, 25mins to the bus stop but a good footpath along the A46, and then 30mins bus ride into the city. However this would not deter us from returning. We had a friendly welcome from Natalie on our arrival.

A lovely site

One of the best Cl's we've visited. Very well laid out, with plenty of space between the pitches. Level hardstanding that you can actually get a ground peg into. Great views, and the kids loved identifying all the different types of birds as they sat eating breakfast. Information hut was very useful for planning our weekend. Owners were helpful and welcoming, clearly people who care about their customers. We will be back!

Fabulous Sky Barn Eggs !!

Freshly fried Sky Barn Eggs, Lincolnshire Sausage, best back bacon an all day breakfast served in the evening with a bottle of wine, incredible! Incredible is also the word for this super CL, everything you want and need, lovely hosts who take pride in their cl site, smashing views over to the Lincolnshire Wolds which get even better when walking on the well signposted trails around the Farm fields. Lovely clean and tidy services and a little hut overflowing with information, and of course, lovely, fresh Sky Barn Eggs. Fabulous stay, this site is now high on our list of favourites. Thank you Nicola and Richard.

Skybarn

Stayed on this lovely site as we were taking our Motorhome for work to be carried out at SMC Newark and this site ticked all the boxes. Only 20 minutes from Newark and easy access. We were greeted on arrival by Nicola who was very nice and explained everything to us. The site is easy to access and well laid out with hardstandings. A good information room containing many leaflets, details of eating houses etc. The only down side for us with a motorhome was that there is nowhere to dispose of grey water. Nicola did solve this however by suggesting using the pipe we had to connect to the tank and running it in to the hedge bottom, maybe at a future date there may be somewhere to empty the waste. We will definitely be stopping here again.

Reply from the CL owner:

Hi Chemistry

Thanks for your great review. Glad you liked your stay with us and it was lovely meeting you.

I think there's been a misunderstanding about the grey waste disposal. Whilst we are happy for motorhomes to hose grey water into the field (it's what happens in a drought after all) we do have a grey water disposal point by the entrance to the site next to the chemical disposal point. Obviously, a motorhome would have to park on the roadway to avoid getting stuck on the grass and use a hose to reach it but it is a very short distance.

Hope this helps clarify.

Just returned from a four night stay, lovely clean site with level hard standing pitches. Nice views very friendly helpful owners. Bit of road noise from A46 but not intrusive didn't spoil the peace and quiet. Very near to Newark, Lincoln and Whisby nature reserve , also Aviation Museum (must visit) . Definite return !!
